Top 101? Geez Gary, you have to reach back to that Richmond-Orangemen game to suggest that you have Final Four ‘intuition”? My god man, you weren’t even potty trained then (I know, I know, I’m assuming you are by now). You became a legend not because of the pick, but that somehow you knew that that Richmond wasn’t on Staten Island. Oh, I did enjoy the episode, as usual.

QOTD – anybody but mine (my stock market results will to prove that).

Top 55? Weak- gotta get back on top like last Friday.
Thank you again, Big G. for showing a few under-the-radar wines.
Also- great Grandfather reference and, almost as important, GREAT BIG WHEEL reference for the younger crowd- I have many a fond memory of cruising the neighborhood on my prized big wheel and “peeling out” until I wore a whole in that plastic wheel!
ANYWAY- I remember my Grandfather (Pop-Pop) who used to say that he “swallowed a basketball” when rubbing his pot belly…it took me a while, but I finally realized that it was a joke. Also, he enjoyed his “happy hour” when he’d enjoy a glass of wine in the evening which deffinitely kept him young. Ahh- content old Grandfathers- may all of us guys be fortunate enough to get to that point some day.

QOTD: Well, let’s keep this tribute to Grandfathers going: I trust(ed) “Pop-Pop’s” (my Mom’s dad) intuition the most. No matter how old he got, he always read the news and kept up with current events so that he was always in touch with the world- never out-of-touch. He stayed sharp as a tack in his elderly years, and stayed young at heart regardless of the effects of time. Here’s to Pop-Pop, and to the wise old man in the lives of all of the WLTV family members.

  • QOTD: Mine. I’ve got one wine rep who I trust, only because he dogs wines that he brings in to sample. “It tastes like red raspberry, lightly oaked …. but I don’t really like it.” I love his honesty ad he is usually on. I’m starting to trust GV too.

    Roocccckkkk Chaaallllllkkkkkk Jaayyyyyhawwwwwwkkkk
    KKKKKKUUUUUUUUU!!!

Kansas all the way! I’m opening that Vielle Julienne ChÒteauneuf-du-Pape for their first round game on Friday and the nicest bottle I can find for when they get to the championship game. And a huge Syrah for the 15th via suggestion from Gary.

Unfortunately, I can’t see anybody beating Georgetown this year unless there’s a miracle if I think logically. Eh. Go Hawks.

Thanks for telling me about four up-and-coming wines I can’t afford right now, Gary! By the time I can buy them, they’ll all be ‘old hat’. But, at least I can say, “I saw a guy taste that one! He says it’s great!” πŸ˜†

QOTD: Not really sure I could point to anyone in particular… I know that I keep finding out that I should trust my own intuition more!

Gary, As a matter of interest is the Arnot blend co-fermented or blended and is the viognier the same vintage as the shiraz?

QOTD: Intuition is what enables a women to contradict her husband before he says anything.

Good selection of wines. The Cali Syrahs are really coming on strong. I love them.

The UF Gators will rule the roost again at the NCAA– too much talent. I have to say though that Georgetown is playing some pretty good ball right now, so watch out for them. Ohio St will be like their football team… destined for a serious meltdown in round two or three.

QOD– I don’t trust intuition. Only good judgment based on long experience and hard work.

    Hi Gary,

I have been posting in the forum for a few days now, but this is the first time that I post a comment for an episode. Just wanted to confirm that I will destroy you in the NCAA challenge πŸ™‚ and that I have Georgetown going all the way.

QOD – Is this a trick question? πŸ™‚ Of course that I trust MY intuition. Oh well, and when it comes to wine I trust yours a little too.

    Great episode Gary!

Loved hearing about your grandpa. Funny how certain flavors can trigger specific memories for us. For me, watermelon always brings good memories of my Granddad. We used to sit out on the back porch with huge slices of watermelon, and he never cared how messy or sticky I got. He was the world’s best watermelon picker and had the thumping technique down to a fine art.

QOTD: I only trust my own intuition, and it has almost never steered me wrong.

    Gary-
    Another fabulous ep!
    Didn’t know about the whole
“get tired of tasting cab thing.”
I NEVER get tired of Cabs.

Thank you for sharing about your Grandad. Isn’t it strange how a scent can dredge up such long ago memories? Happens to me all the time.
NCAA Brackets: My FAVORITE time of the year. We’ll be at Rounds 1 & 2 in Lexington and the St. Louis regional. I can’t wait!! Go Bucks!!

QOD: My late Grandmother was very intuitive. Also, our dog and horses seem to know that something is about to happen before we do; especially when trail riding and a snake is near.

    Entered the NCAA tourney baby!

I trust my wife’s intuition the most. She’s right pretty damn often.

And just as an aside, you damn well better be doing WLTV this time next year. Now that I can’t buy from you guys, this is all I have!

Kansas is going to DESTROY this year. We got screwed in the first round the last couple of years, but this year, we’re #1 in our division, we just won the big 12, and we’re ready to BRING IT!!! Unfortunately i’ll still be in France for the victory celebration

QOTD, I’d trust the exact opposite of my own intuition (Seinfeld, anyone?)

I saw the 2003 Neal cab for $69 yesterday!

Anyway, Arnot Roberts already sold out it appears. Total bummer, that one looks like a keeper.

I’m new too, but have been watching the archived episodes. Good stuff.

First of all I want to say this is my first post and I’m a huge Gary fan. I’m 19 years old and I love wine. This show is really giving me good tips for shopping. Thank you Gary!!!

QOD: I trust my own intuition the most. If ya want it done right, you gotta do it yourself.
