QOTD: Mrs Evans, Berkeley School (now Hughes School) in Berkeley Hts. She seemed about 110 years old when I was in 5th grade but she was probably only 88.

QOTD- Actually had 2 5th grade teachers (and not because I stayed back!!!) Mr. Guttentag died during the school year and then we had Mrs. Roehrenbreck. Thanks for bringing up such painful memories. Why don’t you just give me a papercut and pour lemon juice in it.

QOTD: Quail Run Elementry in Lawrence, KS. Mrs. Durgan – nice lady, I just didn’t like 5th grade because it was boring. 3rd grade was WAY better!

Chocolate covered broccoli dittos. I like mine with lots of black pepper covering it too.

5th grade teacher: Mrs. Glasscock (seriously, I kid you not, that was her name). She was my least favorite elementary school teacher, in fact now that I think about it, I hated her. She took me to the principal for drawing an anatomically-correct picture of an early-blossoming girl classmate (I was a pretty darned good artist as a kid, I must say), and I will never forgive her for that. It was a most excellent picture.

Yuw, late as ever, but ok. Nice break for me in the afternoon. Want to seek out that Beaujolais. Have always thought that Beaujolais is for the most part unrightfully flunked. A good Brouilly, Moulin a Vent, or better a Morgon, … mmm wit some sausages, red cabagge and mashed p’s, or meatballs in cherry sauce, … mmm, great.
QOTD: Mr. Vandewal. Our Dutch teacher. Literary man, Neil Young fan, … and all that, loved him for the anarchy he brought in the classroom.

QOTD – Sister Margaret. The good old days of a Catholic education. No rulers though. That was the specialty of the 3rd grade nun (who was also named Sister Margaret).

QOTD: I’m switchin it up on you… I didn’t particularly like my 5th grade teacher… she suspended me for swearing… not showin a whole lot of love for her STILL. And it was some dude that was SUPPOSED to be my friend narc’d me for brownie points… My first and 3/4 grade teachers were awesome though, big shout outs to Mr Gutowski and Mrs Klee from Isbister Elementary! You guys definitely had a major part in starting me on the way to were I am today. Thanks a ton!
