Yummmm Port! But come on man, what’s with the subdued intro?! QOTD: not sure of the name but it was a baseball game that I would sit on the couch and be the ‘announcer’ while my cousins played

Once you open a bottle of port, how long will it “stay?” It’ll oxidize like unfortified wine, but I would imagine a bottle would be good for a few weeks after it’s been opened, right?

I would use Provate Peserve like for any other still wine.

One could speculate that the higher sugar and alcohol levels in Ports could prolong its life by providing greater stability or resistance to oxidation.

    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

They might have tried a pizza with roaring forties.

I enjoy the cheese showings. It’s helpful even if $80 port is not on the menu.

QOTD: It’s a toss-up between Guerilla War and Bases Loaded. Those games were both pretty awesome. But that’s a tough question because there were so many good Nintendo games. But I’ll stick with one of those two.

Cool episode! Have always wondered about the misterious PORT! Thanks for the show. Is the shelf life of port different than that of traditional wine once it is opened?

QOTD: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or, there was this awesome game called “knockout” a boxing game.
I think you should do a show about Madeira. As much as i love port. Aged Madeira just blows me away with its mustiness. i love the must.

Great episode! I will have to start giving Port a serious run.

QOTD: I saw your Techmo Bowl cartridge up there, better yet was Super Techmo Bowl. My brother and I use to play this for hours. We knew every team perfectly. We use to cut off the TV while still leaving the game console on and just move the direction pad around and pick a random team. It was always a close game. I found the best team (I know Gary will hate it) was NY Giants. Lawrence Taylor was unstoppable as the outside linebacker. He was fast and most of the time could sack the quarterback. The Giants also had Phil Simms and David Megget. Not the best, but when paired with LT, I couldn’t be beat using this team. Sorry for the long QOTD comment. It just took me back for a couple of minutes.

    LOVE DA PORT.
Actually, the 1994 Dow’s scored 97 pts from Spectator & referred to it as a “Black Strap” wine & the best Dows ever produced.
I just got the 1970 Fonseca, from WL of course, & plan to drink it along with the 1994 Dows. Sort of comparing stellar youth in the Dows to stellar young mid-life in the 1970 Fonseca.
Got the Blue veined Stilton & for you Gary, Blue Cheese.
This will be my December by the fire tasting.
Gary, order some 1977 Taylor & Fonseca Buddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Port has a special place in my heart. My first taste of port was given to me by my father-in-law. He died three years ago. At a family event shortly before he died, he opened a bottle of port he had been saving and we all shared. I don’t know if he knew this would be his last chance to share the bottle, but I’ll always think of him when I drink port. We miss you George.

QOTD: My favorite Nintendo games is Dig Dug!

I’ve tried a few ports, but I’ve never gotten into them a lot. However, I must
say that I am tempted by the Dow’s after that description.
QOTD: Tough call. Three way tie between Super Mario, Tecmo Bowl and Mario Cart.
I actually missed college classes because of battle mode on Mario Cart.

QOTD: Jackal! It wins the prize for ‘best game ever made in which you topple a communist regime in a jeep’. It’s super fun to play with a friend after too much port.
