QOTD… I’m going to be drinking some Viognier and Zinfandel but I am truly impressed with Kahuna’s line up!

  • For the contest, does it have to be a wine blog? Or can it be a blog about.. say.. cars? Or, can it be a myspace page?

QOTD: 2006 Château de la Négly La Clape Rosé, and one of two Petit Verdot’s I have.

I don’t know, I’m at the mercy of the relatives and I hate surprises. I’m still wondering whether to slip a few bottles into my luggage in case of emergencies.

  • I won’t know what I’m drinking until Thanksgiving day when I open my pack. And I’ll be sporting my new WLTV wristband in Cancun if all goes well!

Very excited to see what we’ll be drinking – I had faith Gary – I hope you come through big time!

Cause my Mother-in-Law doesn’t have any wine!

  • Great show as always.

QOTD: While cooking I will be sipping on one of your recent reviews, the Prosecco.

    Donhoff Riesling (GER)
    Beaux Freres Pinot Noir (OR)
    Turley Zinfandel (CA)

and, of course, I will gather everyone around to taste your 4-pack.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

P.S. Thanks for the victory over the Steelers. That puts the Colts alone as the #2 seed . . . for now.

I am not sure what I am drinking as at least some of it will be from the secret thanksgiving pack. We missed it on saturday so I might have to stay home tomorrow to be sure we get it before the day. We are excited to get to drink with you Gary on turkey day! 🙂

Great episode. I have had both the Triennes and the Cline before. I really enjoyed the Triennes and while I couldn’t say there was anything bad about the Cline, it just didn’t really catch my interest.

QOTD: Here’s what I picked out for my Thanksgiving Crew in no particular order. Some of them I have had before, some of them I haven’t. Since, I’ll be dining with people who like wine, but aren’t really into it, I decided to go with stuff they probably haven’t had before to makes things a little more interesting for everyone.

Freixenet 2003 Brut Nature Cava, Spain
    Scu Do Prosecco, Italy
Rudera 2005 Chenin Blanc, South Africa
Three Saints Winery 2005 Syrah, CA
David Bruce 2005 Petite Sirah, CA
    Luzon Verde 2006 Jumilla, Spain
Dr. Konstantin Frank 2006 Dry Riesling, NY
    Tres Picos Borsoa 2006, Spain
Quinta Do Noval 10 year Tawny Port

I’ve taken enough abuse about the steelers today(my partner is a patriot’s fan). I will seek out the rhone blends.
QOTD I planned on the secret 4-pak for T’giving. Plus I’ll bring a 2005 Amisfield Pinot and Orin Swift 2005 The Prisoner

Cline is a lot like Bogle, very loyal fans, you know, kind of like being a Jets fan. QOTD: Scheid Vineyards sent me a Petite Sirah and a Gewurztraminer that I will start out with then move on to some Chili wines from Marques de Casa Concha (they like Oak so you may want to pass) thanks for the French discoveries, wish I had a better supplier out here in California.

  • Carlo

QOTD: Well, Thanksgiving is not really celebrated where I live but if I were to go to a Thanksgiving dinner, I would bring a Louis Jadot Moulin-a-Vent Chateau des Jacques.

Where are the jets going to be come January? When the Steelers are in the Super Bowl you know you are going to root for them and be that guy that says, “at least the Jets beat the Super Bowl champs.” J-E-T-S S-U-C-K

So, Gary, I’m grateful for the Minervois and Triennes wines. It’s great to know that such good wines are still available at those prices. I don’t know whether a MySpace page counts as a blog, but I added your show widget to my page anyway.

QOTD? I’ll probably look for one or two of the wines you tried today, but if I can’t find them, I live right near Kermit Lynch’s store in Berkeley.
