The Druid look that you had for a while today might be an occasional keeper. I was hoping that some of the 375’s would be good QPR’S. With wine prices being what they are today I would think that the high-end wineries would make the 375’s exactly half of the 750 price so that people could introduce themselves to that producer without spending a good part of tomorrow’s salary.

QOTD:In my opinion you gain many more fans than you lose with your opening. You are like the neophyte politician who actually says what they think. Don’t turn into the political hack who has been sooo compromied, just to get elected, that they are irrelevent.

Gary, you got the best intro on the Web. Everyone else is so boring it seems like they are on some kind of medication. Its just the NJ comin’ at you at full speed. Not everyone in the country can handle that. I say keep it up.

Don’t change the intro…Thunder is what the show is about. You now have your fans hooked on the intro and your comments. Changing the intro is not necessary.

QOTD: Please don’t change a thing! I could get wine information from a thousand places on the internet, but nowhere will I find this much passion and enthusiasm. I really think it makes WLTV so awesome. The only thing is that the type of people who would complain about that are probably the pretentious ones who are in need of some changing. I think some funny disclaimers would be great. I’m one of the people who suffers from having no spouse to help me drink my bottles (though sometimes that’s a great thing) and I would buy more half bottles but the price difference is crazy. Seems stupid to me to pay 75% of the original cost for 50% of the wine. Maybe the shops around here just suck.

Second time on the show for that Chablis (got 88 points in Ep #260). Don’t really mind the intro. Small price to pay for the content.

I am the founding father of the SL Association though at times I have convinced the little woman to try a nice German Riesling so this show was right up my alley. Great show. Keep ’em coming on half bottles.

QOTD: Maybe have some scantily-clad blondes walk around the office with the names of the day’s wines instead of “Round 1” at boxing matches? That works for me.

QOTD: Don’t change a thing! Keep the format that you have. Now, with that said; /occasionally/ if you want, throw in a viewer intro, but be specific, something Johnny Carson or Letterman like. There’s nothing wrong with changing things up…once in a while. But please, trust me on this, if you alter your show to appease your critics, you’ll lose the heart of your fan base. I enjoy your enthusiasm. You always motivate me to go out and pick up a bottle of vino!

For my money, do NOT change the intro. I actually get jazzed, no matter how I might be feeling personally, just watching and listening to your enthusiasm at the beginning of each episode. I am currently ignorant of wine, but I’m watching and learning. Rock on man!

We liked the show. We have tried half bottles when we’ve found them in wines we aren’t familiar with before. We’ll have to keep an eye out for others.

As for the QOTD re: opening, I’m with the majority opinion: you being you is what has built a following. And an opening warning is OK, but reminds me a little of The Jerry Springer Show. I like the silent title graphic (the calm before the storm), thenâ?¦ explosion of energy and positivity! It’s great pacing, IMHO.

QOTD: Random viewers making intros? No that sniffy sniffs out to be boredom. However to be fair to all the creative vayniacs out there it would be totally feasible to have a monthly show where some of the vayniac videos could be linked up. (Mott??) I did take at your advice and seek the Book “Service Included” and enjoyed every page, perhaps sommelier from some local restaurants in a round robin taste test contest WITH YOU running the show. This could give alot of people the angle they need on their palate in demonstrating food structures and pairings. Anyways..more later. Gotta go back to lurking. peace all.

At one time I purchase/drank more 375ml until I read about a glass of red wine/day being good for the heart, well if one was good it just naturally follows that two or three would be even better or I thought I could “bank a few days. Either way the 375 lost its appeal.

QOTD: I don’t do change well, and I don’t have a movie camera to shoot video even if I did…best to leave intro as is….well I guess the little girls were kinda cute today. OK intros of little children would be fine, just no grownups trying to be funny.

I wouldn’t change your opening at all. As many people mentioned, and as you mentioned, it is your personality. 15 second intros from vayniaks might be fun too. I almost died when I saw that one from minnesota, eh. Its not really my thing, but if I come up with something I will submit.

Why bother with 1/2 bottles, spend $10 and get a pump and some stoppers. I am reluctant to pay the premium for the 1/2 bottles. So when I am alone I often have 2 or 3 bottles open at a time, standing up in my wine fridge, at supper I pick one that I feel like drinking. When my wife and I are staying in the same place, this is usually not an issue, cause SHE ROCKS.
