QOTD – Dude, you have how many viewers? If the complainers want some boring place to get wine info, there are a thousand places to go (RP, the other Gary:-), etc.). You’ve got to be yourself. I personally enjoy the intro and it gets me excited to watch the rest of the episode. Is it over the top? Without a doubt, but it is you. Your enthusiasm is what your views love.

Gary, you’re crazy! How could you get rid of that intro? Just imagine if you did something subdued and then went into that same explanation of the Chablis, it just wouldn’t make any sense. You are who you are and that’s why we love WLTV.

You don’t need a disclaimer. People will figure out if they like WLTV or not. With the amount of press coverage you get, if there’s any chance they’re going to like you they’ll eventually find their way back.

to hell with the people who don’t like how you start the show. keep it the way it is.

I would also add that I appreciate your total approach to this program and would encourage you not to change a thing.

You make this very real and spontaneous which I enjoy thoroughly.

Do not fear losing folks because of the introduction. If they are that fickle then it is their loss.

Hey gary, Do not change anything about the intro. I am recently new to the show and I have gone back to watch the old shows where you are not so jubalent. I love the begining of the show. I think that you bring it up a notch in expectation of a great show.It also adds to watch the show is all about, and how you bring the THUNDER. Keep up the great work and I am loving the show.

QOTD: Dyude, do not change a thing! a 15 sec. intro would be cute every once in awhile, but seriously, do not change. You shoot from the hip with your wine ratings, right? So why try to change who you are or what you do? It works.

When I saw my first episode of WLTV, I called my wife and said, ” you gotta see this guy, he is intense!!” We love the show. IF some people don’t and want to get their wine info via WS or WA or whatever, so be it. But don;t hate on us Vayniacs man. I just got my first wrist band — photo to come soon. Got the banners on my blog, spreading the WLTV love on facebook. We’re a hardworking crew devoted to good wine and changing the wine world.
My only pet peeve is that you sell out some of the wines on the show too damn fast!!!!

How can you say I don’t care!!! I watch every show. I comment whenever I have something even vaguely interesting to contribute. I remembered your birthday. I buy your wine (well, I would if you could ship to where I live). What more do you want . . .

QOTD: I like Dr. T’s “volume will return to normal after 15 seconds” idea. I understand that your goal is to lure new viewers in, not turn them away. I like it just like it is, but you must do what you think best.

Great show….My wife is pregnant and I’ve been drinking alone for 5 months, I tend to stay away from the half bottles but maybe i’ll give them a closer look.QOTD I don’t mind the current intro one bit it get’s me jazzed up and ready for the show .But it’s always cool to see from the Vaynernation as well.Thanks Gary and WLTV crew.

Love the descriptions as always. Love to see a blind Domestic tasting challenge. North Cali VS Oregon, Wash VS South Cali, Michigan Vs Texas, New York Vs Virgina….That would be cool!

Hmm…being a poor guy at university I need value, and I never considered getting half bottles…I’ll check it out. Then I can try every single type of wine I can find.

Gary, here’s the thing…you have a unique style online and it’s going to take a while for people to discover it. Don’t push it. The best celebrity personalities developed slowly, like wine. An intro is a good idea, but what will attract people is you. I’ve gone back and looked at some of your old shows and you were interesting, but dull. You’ve grown. Develop your natural talent. You’re not going to change the world of the old traditional wine connoisseurs, but you’ve got the whole wide world of the “run-of-the-mill” people, like me, who need simple, honest direction to experience good wine. Believe me, your somewhat eccentric presentation may at first confuse viewers but, with time, it will become your enduring trademark. Word travels.

If you change I’m leaving…………….seriously, do you want all the wine dweebs in the world watching? Please do not submit to their moronic requests. There are many chat rooms where people can discuss yields, fermentation and maceration, just not one that I want to listen to. Like you say every episode we are changing the wine world…………let them find another chat room.

Loved the show, Gary!! I don’t do the 1/2’s ’cause I don’t have to. :} I’m wondering if the taste you were trying to come up with in that last wine was what we have here in America known as candy lipstick. For some reason, as you were trying to describe a cassis-like intense flavor, the candy lipstick I used to have as a kid came to mind. QOD: What should you do? Just listen to your insides, and you’ll know what to do. It has served you well thus far.

I stumbled across your show from a link at corkd.com. I was immediately drawn to your enthusiasm and the fact that you encourage people to drink what they like but also to try new things. You couldn’t be more right on with that. I have been a regular viewer of the show for several months now. This is my first post because I felt it necessary to throw my 2 cents in on this. I now feel like an official Vayniac.

I haven’t read the all the replies but I have read enough to know that the overwhelming response is that we love you as you are. I suspect the folks who were turned off by you after 10 seconds are a bit like your Haloween persona. Spontaneity is great, but keep being you. When musicians do what you are talking about, we call them sell-outs.

QOTD: Putting in some intros here and there would be cool ,but, I don’t want to sit through a comedy skit to get to the wine info. Your doing fine by your lonesome. Keep doing what your doing. Just don’t be boring. There are plenty of other sites for that.

Interesting show. I’ve never really gotten into the 1/2 bottles much, but I appreciated your take on them.

QOTD: I don’t think that you need to change a thing. Your energy in the intro is what really grabbed my attention when I first saw the show. And contrary to what some earlier posters said of people who like the intro, I’m well over 25 and a working professional. I just like to have fun, and at the risk of sounding full of myself, I like to think that I get the message that Gary is trying to get out there. And I say, more power to you GV!!!! We love you.

You can change whatever you want Gary but I liked the show from the first time I saw it. Though the intro vids is a cool idea too.

I need to keep my eyes open for the half bottles as I am usually drinking alone. On a side note I see no need for an intro; a funny or really well done clip here and there will be ok.

Gary, I’ve been watching since day 1 and think all of the Vayniacs need to appreciate you for who you are and the opening is all you. If you would like to put up a disclaimer at the beginning so be it. Maybe you could get Shatner to do one for you. He does everything else. Don’t buy many half bottles because I have found too much bottle to bottle variability in the past.

I’ll have to check out some of the split sized bottles we have at work- we usually have a few, but now with the holidays, we have more out on the floor. That’ll be something to try out.

QOTD: Ok GV…I like the occasional openers like today but I truly don’t think there is a problem with your opening…at last count you already have 40,000 viewers right? I know you want more, but if people can’t swallow your no-snobbery attitude, why should they continue to watch? That’s what WLTV is all about- breaking down wine sector snobbery and making it accessible to the everyman or woman. In essence, it’s “changing the wine world!” (I think I heard that quote somewhere).
