QOTD: I agree with the label making or homemade wine tasting. Under the football is one of those mini NFL football helmets they used to give away in cereal…or fast food..i can remember…a JETS helmet of course.

Next contest should be that you send a bottle of each of the wines you taste on the show to the winner for a year, or a month. Then at the end of the month the winner gets to go on your show and argue with you about 4-5 wines that he felt you over/under-rated.

The contest: Pick one winner among all vayniacs who gess the new Superball champion.
The price: A trip to Napa with the master GARY V.

Hey, here’s an idea for the next contest:

You know that chalk board behind you? You should pick some vinyard or winery around the world… and everyday, you have a different clue on the chalkboard that gives a small hint to what winery it is that you picked.

Or… heck… even a better way to get people to watch everyday is to simply say the clue during the episode so people have to watch to get the clue.

Only 1 clue a day… the first clues are impossibly hard… and they get a bit easier as we go… but not too easy.

But, the first person to guess it right… gets to fly there with you to do a bit of sniffy sniff on some of their wine and film an episode or two at the winery.

It would be pretty cool and would get people involved and watching everyday.

So… that’s my idea Gar… what do ya think???

Great show, Gary. I love valopolicellas and they are the Italian wine I drink the most of. As a matter of fact I had a Zenato valopicella tonight for dinner with Italian food – pasta and meatballs. My favorite valopicellas are ripassos, which I call poor man’s amarones.

Gary, sorry to say, I have a low opinion valpolicellas. When I was in Italy last, I had some truly awful valpolicellas. There are some really nice Rossa table wines in Italy though.
