The next contest should be a “name those flavors” contest. We taste, you taste. We predict what you’d say about the wine, what flavors it has, what’s on the nose, etc. Whoever comes closest, wins.

    Prizes should be
    a) $1000 shopping spree at Wine Library
    or
    b) you fly out to do a tasting for us and 12 friends.

    sounds fun to me!

What’s under the football? – Tickets to the next Jets home game?

QOTD (new contest) – You blind taste a wine, give your best descriptions, then let us guess the Vintage, Varietal/Blend, Country & Region. Closest wins. Just make sure it’s not Californian! 🙂

Lots of good suggestions for contests and prizes already. I like a WL shopping spree, you flying out for a tasting, and dinner with your dad (okay, I guess you can come, too)! I’m so bummed that I lost this contest as I was looking forward to you paying my airfare from Turkey on a couple of days’ notice!

QOTD 1: Under the football? A new Thunder Cat to add to the collection?

QOTD 2: What about a free ticket to attend a major wine tasting event (New York, San Francisco, etc.) with Gary in the upcoming months for the best contribution to the wine world…clearly I need to work on the competition qualifications…I’ll think about it a little bit more, but I’ll stick to the prize.

Next content: offer another mystery pack, but none of the bottles have labels. Anyone who orders a pack and guesses the types of wine that were included is eligible for a drawing.

I’m really curious as to how the Bolla matched up against that Allegrini.

QOTD: Some kind of action figure. I’m going to have to go with a thundercat.

Next contest… how about the most oddly descriptive tasting notes… something further out there than dirty sweat socks. And as a prize, I think a tour (and tasting) of some of the cellars from yesterday’s episode with you, Jay, Sasha and Mott would be awesome.
Under the football, I’m guessing a cork.
