QOTD: Contest idea…hmm….
Throw out a list of 10 wines you’ll taste on the show. Whoever guesses your favorite wine of the ten (when you taste them, a day or week after announcing the 10) wins. Or, rather, of the people who guessed your favorite, draw a name.

Who am I kidding, I just want to be in the running for the next contest. I’m sure someone else has a better contest idea…

Sweet… you know I love Valpolicella! I’ve had plenty of Mazzi, but not this particular one… generally very good! The Zardini sounds incredible! Too bad I’ve blown my wine budget this month ALREADY… but I’ll think about it.

QOTD1: I think there’s a Vino-Seal glass “cork” under that Jets thing. Answer number two, and you KNOW I’m right, so I should win by default… I think the table cloth is under the Jets thing! You’d better not deny my prize…

QOTD2: The contest for the “bigger” prize… dang it, I can’t think of anything good right now and I have to head to dinner (one of those expense account dinners.. we’ll see what’s on the wine list!). For the record, I would destroy you in pencil fighting. I owned my schools in pencil fighting. We also used to do this one where two people would spin quarters around, guess what it would land on and the winner got both quarters. I used to clean up in that one too.

QOTD: Contest idea: a little complex, but … brown-bag three (or more) wines similar, then have a show where you taste them, describe them, and rate them, but you only give us the names/vintages of the three wines and we are to match them up correctly. All who answer correctly are entered into a drawing. The prize? A trip for two with you for a week to the wine-tasting region of 1.France 2.Spain 3.Italy or 4.California (only one, of course, unless … ?).

QOTD:You should take a tour of the entire country, starting in New York and ending in Southeren California with two or three lucky vayniacs. You should only go to local cult wineries, and try the “under the rader states” like Michigan and Colorado, etc. ANND!!! document it on video, like the great beer documentary “American Beer.” BRING MAHT.

QOTD- a WLTV trivia contest with some obscure questions like first appearence of Jet spit bucket, or which episode featured a Strawberry Shortcake bucket, make them hard so every one has to research all 365 episodes just to get into the drawing. You could make several versions of the test so not everyone has the same questions and send them out via the Forum personal message tool. Then on top of that everyone gets an additional entry for every episode the comment on from the start date forward. We get a chance at really cool schwag and you get a ton of hits to your website, more registered forum members, and lots of comments. I think it would really bring out the lurkers.

Attending a Jets game with GV is a good idea but the football season would most likely be finished by the time the next contest ends.

2) A scavenger hunt. Since everyone can’t be in one location, make it a virtual one. In other words, register a bunch of domains. The first clue forces you to unscramble something, put together the name of a second domain, that gives a different clue to go to the next, and so on.
