Have only ever had one, a local one from a small producer brought back from Germany by a friend. It was GOOD! It had acidity/zippiness AND residual sugar on the end which seems rare in Australian white wines and riesling.

  • Spice Route Pinotage, Charles Back makes good wines, I’m looking for this, & that Riesling sounded luscious!

Yes, yes, yes. The first serious wine I remember drinking and enjoying after having grown up on Thunderbird and Ripple and Grandpa’s homemade wine was a Mosel Riesling in college. These days I drink mostly red wines–except for German Rieslings.

But *please* learn how to pronounce “spätlese” correctly. The umlaut over the “a” changes it to a long vowel (“aay” instead of “ah”). “Spät” rhymes with “late”.

Yes and Yes. I probably should drink more of them, especially with my love of spicy foods. Prum is my favorite value choice for consistently and QPR. I tend to stick to St. Urbans Hof, Pauly Berweiger and other value brands for more day to day drinking.
