QOTD: Will be drinking two wines which are very different but both I like very much (and am pretty sure you like them to Gary) while grilling around a camp fire all bundled up… yes.. grilling around a camp fire (not a gas grill).. you should try grilling around a camp fire in the winter in the cold weather (in the snow will be better).. you get to stay warm around the fire while you grill….

I was really excited when I saw you had a Sbragia on today’s show and a little disappointed in your overall review; however, I haven’t tried Ed’s Sauv Blanc, so how disappointed can I be. Hey, even the best wine makers have a varietal they just don’t have the knack for. I might have to try one just to compare reviews.

Anyway, I am a big fan of Ed’s Cab Sauvs (Monte Rosso & Andolsen Vineyard). In fact, we’re having one this weekend after a round of golf. I’d like to hear your take on those boys.

QotD: I’m packing my car and driving to Colorado for an 8 day ski trip in T- minus 10 hours. I don’t think I’ll have internet access so I will have a lot of backed episodes to catch up on when I get back.

I’m your friend on facebook but I’d like to apologize for just now starting to comment. I feel much the same as you re California Sauv. Blanc. However, I have found two of them that I really do enjoy, both connected to a winemaker named Merry Edwards (I think you may have tasted some of her stuff before?) and both using fruit from the Russian River AVA. She makes an incredible Sauv. Blanc under her own label that around here is in the $40 range, and was once connected with a winery called Matanzas Creek that also makes a very lovely SB in the $17 range. I don’t get an opportunity to catch every episode so perhaps you’ve tried these before but if not I think it’d be worth your time to check them out.
