I have only had one great sauvignon blanc (to my palate) from Cali…the Alpha Omega Sauvignon Blanc from Napa. It had what I was looking for, that clean crispness. But I would definitely agree, you could definitely get better deals from new zealand…

Usual weekend stuff: sleeping, drinking, cleaning, rooting for the 49ers…oh wait.

got to go with the Hawks! Quest fild will be Rockin’tomorrow and we start tailgating early. We rarely lose at home GV.

QOTD: I’ll be rooting for the hometown Chargers and I pick them, Steelers (though it pains me), Skins, and Giants. Seattle just doesn’t excite me.
This weekend will also be spent working in the garden a bit, and hopefully walking on the beach.

BTW, one other thing to do with wine you don’t like much is to cook with it.

Gary, you want a good domestic Sauv Blanc…Try Stevens Winery out of Woodinville Washington. It’s my go to white when having shellfish or pasta with an olive oil based sauce.

QOTD – Seahawks are going to eeek it out. Watch the weather in that game, we have a big storm coming in off the coast.

QOTD (other) – Had a Zin tonight, going for beers tomorrow for the game and then a riesling with dinner. Not sure what we will open on Sunday.

Just got back from visiting relatives for a couple weeks. gotta get life back in order over the weekend.

DianneWalnuts is the girl who gave Gary some walnuts during the Crushpad event in SF, and Jeff is her husband (aka JeffWalnuts) Tonight, opened a 2003 Chateau Chasse-Spleen bordeaux, nice for a tough vintage, who knows for tomorrow!

Don’t sell your ridiculous antics short, it is a huge part of why I love this show. Otherwise, I would just go watch some stuffy-old guy talk about wine on some other show.

Also, I use the double words a lot as well, glad to see I am not the only one.

I’ll be watching the games this weekend of course, but I’ll also be taking down the ol’ christmas tree. Yeah, it’s still up. It’s so pretty it’s hard to take down. I almost feel bad doing it. Maybe I’ll wait til next weekend to takey take it downy down.

I love the comment that you made about the “not so good” wines that you try from time to time. I have to admit…many times, I will have a glass or 2, and then pour it down the drain. I will have to start revisiting the wine again the next day, or a few hours later. Thanks for the tip!
