You’re absolutely right, throwing away the wine is a waste. I’ll remember that from now on… fortunately, I’ve only thrown away 1 bottle of wine because it taste absolutely revolting, like drinking sewage water, are Bordeaux supposed to do that?

QOTD: I went shopping and got myself lots of new clothes!!! YAY!

QotD: I work weekends so that’s what I have lined up. But I also have a few French wines I’ve never tried before that I’ve very excited about!

Oh, and just for the record, “This is Sauvignon Blanernannay” had me laughing for about three replays and fifteen minutes!

I’m with you on all calls but Seattle who will nail a 54 yd FG in the final seconds to take the game by 2 opts.

Oh, and I have never dumped a wine down the drain unless it was faulted, and never will!

Real comment: You laid back show seemed kind of thin. If you are gonna be relaxed one have at least two wines (Double the chance of something you like) and Two pick wines that you have hopes will be well. You had reservations before you sniffed this one, you ran a risk of throwing up on your couch if it was really bad. 🙂

QOTD: Probably taking down the last of the christmas decorations while drinking some wine while watching the Redskins beat the Seahawks.

QsOTD: Seattle, Jax (who will then beat NE and go into Indy and lose), Giants and SD and other than watching the games I plan to have dinner at a wine/tapas bar in Columbia, MD called The Iron Bridge and tomorrow (Sunday) I play some tennis dubs and then the games again.

Weekend QOTD: Wine & cheese pairings at a friends…2001 Cali Cabs, cheese (Murray’s Cheese Shop,NYC) and bread(Dean & Deluca).
Football QOTD Rutgers over Ball State…it’s not a BIG bowl but it is a bowl.

QOTD: As I don’t follow football, this weekend I will continue to wait for Spring, maybe start my taxes, and learn how to drink wine out of the bottle like Gary.

QORD: Cleaning up Xmas…..NY, JAX, TEN, WASH

Wine dinner at Santa Cafe with New Zealand wine pairings including Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Merlot on Saturday and a big tasting Sunday night with 30 people bringing their own bottles with the only theme being an unusual grape varietal so no Chardonnay or Cabernet Sauvingnon. Since two of the people are on the list I can’t say what I’m bringing but it will be a varietal not seen often in California and one that I really like. The tasting will be blind with only the varietal to be guessed. By the way I never throw any wine away. If I really hate it I keep a big vinegar crock to finish off the bad ones. Even bad wines make good wine vinegar; one white crock and one red and rose crock.
I really like the Merry Edwards Sauvignon Blanc from Russian River if you ever get a chance to taate that one GV.

Blanc. I will try to find the one you described and not the local ones I have had. This weekend we will putter, fight the rain storms and have a coffee at Farmer’s Market and do the crossword puzzle. Fun!

Just had a wine last night with a glass closure, a Weingut Stadt Krems Gruner Veltliner. Was pretty cool!

Was completely blown away by Breggo SB (and all their whites-including that oh-so-ubiquitous pinot gris) ya gotta ask your reppie reps to bring you some Anderson Valley whites, mi amigo! Head turners, fo sho.
