Great show, congratulations on two years! Looking forward to the new format and the next two years.

  • Amy

    Congrats on 2 years!
I just started watching last week, and I am hooked. I don’t really drink, but you’ve inspired me to maybe go to a wine tasting or two and expand my Pal. πŸ™‚

While the content you cover is cool, your personality is such a standout. Your playfulness, your heart, and your sincerity is inspiring. It’s nice to see those things aren’t as hard to find in people as I sometimes think.

Thanks for making me smile more in the last week than I think I have in months.

    Newbie,
    Amy

  • Saftig

Happy Anniversary Gary! You deserve every measure of success, personal and professional. Well done. I’ve bought so much wine this past week from WL I’ve got to look for a second job. Anyone in the Tucson area want to meet up?

Congratulations on the two years! A show well done. Thank you.

Am I lurker? Not by choice. I’ve been away for a few months helping my wife in her new restaurant. I only see the show once or twice a week now. Sigh. Someday I’ll catch up.

Now I’m off to try to get these damn shipping laws changed in this state.

GV, I almost came to tears during your signoff. We all appreciate the time, effort, enthusiasm, and love you put into the show. There’s never been anything quite like winelibraryTV time in my life, nor will will there ever be. Many thanks, and CHEERS!

SOTD: Just a few years ago, I was a young fellow growing up on the farm in the rural midwest -in an area where very few embrace alcohol in any form except 12 packs of Bud or Busch. Since my teenage years, I’ve come to understand that wine, (better) beer, and spirits can be so much more than just a way to ‘get drunk’. They can be the spice of life, the part that makes the everyday a bit more interesting.

Who knew that bringing home a bottling of someone else’s hard work could make any day one to remember?

  • Clifford

Because of you, this young married man with no money spends too many bones on wine, and I can’t thank you enough!

    Congrats on the two years.

Congrats Gary! I’m a relatively new fan, and enjoy your enthusiasm and your amazing colorful evaluation of wine. I also like the fact that when you speak of your gratefulness, it comes from your heart. Here’s to a fabulous 3rd year. Enjoy the ride!

  • RonD

Wow! Two years on strong! Keep it up and we’ll keep watching. We enjoy new shows with dinner and a glass or bottle of wine every evening with dinner (depending how bad the day was!). We’ll be at the Taste of Washington and look forward to seeing you there.

BTW we stopped by one of the local wine merchants tonight and had a taste of Chateau Lascombes 2003-2006! We ended up with some less expensive wines from CDP, Crozes Hermitage, Bordeaux and Gigondas. All French! We love the old world ’cause it ROCKS with complexity and structure that is hard to find here!

    Chow-a-bunga!

I had an epiphany today while talking with a new account this afternoon. You are so freaking on point with your closing statement for every show… For the first time it was easy to understand our (the new generation of wine consumers) impact on the demistification of wine. It can be whatever you want it to be and we are for sure making a change, little by little. Ah, it feels good… Thanks for some great, inspirational shows!! Check out the Cluver Dry Reisling from Elgin South Africa. About $14 bones and since you are a lemon fanatic (here here!), it freakin rocks. And the Thirsty Thursday tastings are on!!! Will keep you updated

Happy Anni-Birthday WLTV!! Haha. Congrats Gary and thanks for keeping this going. I watch every day. I am also really bad at these kind of statements and pity whichever of my friends asks me to be their best man cuz the speech will be like 10 seconds haha.

SOTD: I am leaving for vacation tomorrow. I will average 1.2 bottles of wine (consumed) per day while I am away. How about that for a statement?

As a founding member of a tasting group that has been knockin’ ’em back since 1972, I know what you mean, brother… but do you know what you mean to me? WLTV is just about the only TV I watch. I look forward to your show every day (I hate weekends), it means a lot! I also know what you mean about Languedoc-Roussillon, too. During this episode I was sipping on a Mas Lumen La Sylve 2001 that I bought as a future a year ago — KILLER!! Thanks for everything: your hard work, your enthusiasm, your murdering of the french language, ALL of it. Love ya, man.

    GV —

Just wanted to throw out my congrats to you and the WL team. Now when someone asks how long I’ve been following WLTV, I can respond with a nice, clean “Two years.”

And when someone asks how much I’ve spent at your freakin’ store, I can just as quickly respond with a “Too much”.

    All the best, brother.

Happy Birthday, or Anniversary or both. I hope you reach your goal of 1000 comments today, as I want to watch more episodes. You have been great showing us the passion that wine can bring. I know it will end, all good things do, but I hope it is not soon. My palate thanks you.

Hey Gary – fantastic sentiments in today’s show. . . I simply can’t imagine what you must have been feeling today . . . congrats and thank you!!

Love the “Third Thirsty Thursday” idea . . . any chance you’d let us get by with continuing with our Friday night “Weekly Winedowns” instead? (you know that’s alot of alliteration for eager oenophiles)

  • Shadowbird

SOTD: Congrats to all the winners. I’m so jealous of all six of you.

Gary thanks for all that you do! I that I and all the folks like me that enjoy WLTV are excited to see where we go in the next 100, 500, 5 billion shows!!!!! ;-). I hope that you truly enjoy what your doing and realize what a pleasure it is for folks like myself to have this outlet. Its nice to step away from work and the other aspects of life and learn a bit more about my new hobby of enjoying wine. I only realized the other day that this is my new and favorite hobby, passtime and passion. Thanks for the help along the way.

  • Hi there Gary, and the team of winelibrary from Austria πŸ˜‰

    Happy 2nd Anniversary!!!

this show was great again, just the two bottles which did not really fit in that show – but anyway, when you tasted the birthday cake I got hungry,…

I read through the comments and there was one which describes it like I feel here in Austria – everytime I am drinking wine with friends and customers in our winery I use your vocabulary like “snippy sniff” – do I spell it right? Doesn´t matter, you know what I mean – and people look at me if I was from another galaxy, … πŸ˜‰

As you know I am a very “young” – because of one week looking episodes of WLTV – watcher but I will stay with you because you are so great doing this job. Already told a lot of people they should give it a try and watch your show. And do you know what – everybody, really everybody told me, they like it very much. So maybe we will start a WLTV-GV – fan club in Austria? Who knows?

So keep us teaching to use our pal,
    c u at episode #413,
    cheers,
    Chris
