Great show. I know from the forums that Kirk was excited to do this… I would love to try the Patricia Green and the blueberry wine.
For the record, I am down with the Bitterness Bro… I’ve been drinking a lot of whites lately like dry chenin (Montlouis-sur-Loire, Savenierres) and Godello from Spain that have a great bitter almond component.
QOTD: I always love drinking wine with my mom – she’s been a chef and serious wine collector for years, but it’s definitely not stuffy when we crack bottles – I don’t get to see her as often as I’d like, either. Add my grandmother to the list, she really relishes wine too.
But lately, my girl and I have been splitting bottles quite a bit. I’ve been training her palette. She like German and Alsatian Reisling, Vouvray, Txakoli, Gruner, sparklers (mainly grower champ. some cremant d’Loire) and Sherry. It’s great to see her grow as a drinker.
My friends from work. There’s nothing quite like a ‘shift drink’.

I have tasted only two of these wines before: the Dobbes and the Patricia Green. I like the Dobbes pinot noir better than the Syrah. Patricia Green is one of my four top favorite Oregon pinots. She used to be the winemaker at Torii Mor, and in the last few years, her own wines have begun to hit their stride and have more of the complex nuances of the wines she made for Torii Mor. However, I think that her wines are now better overall.
QOTD: I love to drink a wine with my wife that we both love. If the wine is not one she likes, I would rather drink it with a knowledgeable wine friend who does appreciate it. Sharing a wonderful wine with another person who really appreciates it is one of the greatest experiences in life….a real blessing. Both the wine and the relationship are enhanced by the experience.

This was a very enjoyable show – while I’ve appreciated the brevity of some of the last few shows, it was nice to see you and your guest get into a lot of wines and have a real conversation.
qotd: family. and any friends who are curious and open minded about trying a variety of things.

QOTD: Unequivocally, my wife.
Great show. GV, as much as we love you, your antics, your opinions, etc. It is great to see you comparing notes with someone else whose palate differs and shares their thoughts as well.
Thanks both!

Qotd – My Dad. Hands down.
This was the best episode in a longtime. Honestly, this is the type of show that got me into WLTV to begin with.

Great show….I have some of the 04′ Patricia Green Qual Hill in my cellar…can’t wait to open it now. It seemed a little young when I tried it last year!!
QOTD: really anyone that can appreciate a good bottle and the effort by the winery to produce it!

QOTD: I like sharing wine the most with my boyfriend, Karl, because he is really into talking about all aspects of the wines and not just gulping them. My brother’s getting a little better, though, too…he used to dislike wine a lot! But I made him like it. Hehe.

Awesome show! You two were were fun to watch and I learned a lot. I wasn’t sure who Kirk was since I’ve never been on the forums, but I thought he brought a lot of thunder and wine knowledge. Great job Kirk!
I like drinking wine with my wife (Edie) and her dad.
