QOTD: Sorry I don’t think I could stand just one wine every day….It would drive me nuts….plus one of the major reasons I love wine is the variety…..if not for that we would all be drinking beer…..

  • Atta girl Sara. You done us proud.

Trying to remember which spoof she’s talking about… we can be a spoofy bunch after a few bottles. But we’ll definitely get something together in time for the spoof-a-thon.

    Nice job Sarah (and Gary)

QOTD: Could do a bottle of Cristalino Brut everyday and be pretty pleased by it.

PS.: Gary, thanks for hating on those picture things you stare at. They make me mad too.

I really can’t pick one particular wine out that I loved more than any other, but if I were forced to, it would be the 1990 Chateau Suduiraut, a charming and robust Sauternes from a banner year in the region.

Red: Really, a 3-way tie between the ’96 Tenuta Friggiali Brunello di Montalcino, the ’02 Falcor Cab, and 2005 Keller Estate Pinot Noir La Cruz Vineyard… though I have VERY strong old world leanings in general, I haven’t had (or been able to afford) old world wines beyond the brunello (which had some new world qualities anyway) that would knock my socks off so much… yet – though I know they’re out there.

White: A tie between 2004 Jean-Marc Brocard Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume, 1997 Maison Leroy Bourgogne Blanc, and the 2005 Domaine St. Benoit Châteauneuf-du-Pape Elegance — though again, I know there is better out there, I just haven’t had it yet.

Sparkling: 1999 Dom, most definitely, though I’ve had some good NV’s from other labels.

Dessert: Definitely two come to mind – 1990 Chateau Suduiraut, and 1971 Chateau Caillou. Ahh, I love Sauternes.

My wine horizon has been expanded! Albeit in ways Gary probably never intended… I’d never heard of Cisco until now. Don’t think my Pal would approve of it, though, at least based on these most excellent tasting notes:

It is impossible to pick just one wine, but there are wine styles that I could stay with:
Aromatic, rich whites and softer reds.

QOTD: The only wine that is phenomenal and i can drink one or two glasses every day, is a vintage port or Tokaji. I’ll be very happy with that.

Long time viewer and wine lover; had to leave a comment: Sara Leib is awesome. Have her back. It’s great to have someone comfortable in front of the camera, comfortable with her palate, and plays well with Gary’s awesomeness and brilliant reviews!

QOTD – Pride Chardonnay (really! – and I really like reds!)

Excellent job Sara! Like a good Vayniac you donâ??t follow rules, not even Garyâ??s. I noticed you cleansing your pallet with water after the first wine. The only time I remember Gary doing that was the dirt (and such) eating episode. Nice call with the eraser. In your place, my responses would be about as deep as Mottâ??sâ?¦ I like this one, I donâ??t like this one. No offense Mott, I love you man. I wore your shirt for my daily walk yesterday. QOTD: Last time I declared a wine to be my favorite was over 20 years ago. It was 1982 Rodney Strong Pinot Noir. Back then I was also fond of Sebastiani cab. I cut my teeth on stainless steel aged Gallo Hearty Burgundy. The oaky Rodney Strong was new and exotic to me. I havenâ??t had any in over 20 years. My latest wine kick started late in 2007. I bought a couple of bottles of â??06. I havenâ??t tried one yet. I doubt it will still be my favorite. Some discoveries Iâ??ve made this year include Iron Stone Cab Franc and Cune Rioja Crianza [tempranillo]. Warning, anyone afraid of the big oak guy, should probably stay away from my choices!

  • Wooo Ho! Comment # 100! Always awesome to see a guest on the show…and it was a very fun show to watch. Hmmm…my favorite wine of all time. If I had to drink only one wine for the next ten years…I’d have to say I’d pick

QOTD: 1996 Dom Perignon…it’s so versatile with food, I just had to pick it. Hate to pick the baller, bottle, but it is classic juice!
