I enjoy Cali Cabs from time to time, but they tend to be a little costly. I have several in storage including a 2004 Turnbull. I have found several Washington Cabs that bring the thunder at somewhat better price points than the Cali cabs. Usually when I hit the $40 price point I tend to go old world.

Hey Gary! I’ve been one of those lurkers you hate so much for a couple months now, and I’ve never in my life routinely watched a show – until, the thunder show!

I’ve been getting into wine since it is part of my job now, am a HUGE beer-head turned wino. Realizing wine seriously has a lot more to offer. The show’s helped me learn a LOT and given me good direction on where to head with my palette.

QOTD: I’ll go with what someone else said, enough to keep Gary smiling.

Good show. I’m glad you went over some of those because it’s fun to drink the stuff that gets a lot of hype, but it’s not fun when it turns out you’re just paying for the hype.

We have that very Chappellet at home and I am looking forward to comparing tasting notes. We have Turnbull 2004, but we didn’t like it much a few months ago and so are waiting a year before trying it again. We just had Snowden The Lost Vineyard and liked it very much. Nice show, nice guest.

Great show! I, too, was a little suprised that all of the wines showed that well. I was also rooting for Chappellet, since they are such an underappreciated, yet legendary winery. I was glad to see them rain down the thunder!
