The Muse website says the Genie contains chardonnay, trebbiano, muscat, marsanne, rousanne and viognier. Maybe they didn’t have room for all that on their bottle. Or maybe the percentages vary drastically from year to year. They really do need to put something about the varietal on the label.
QOTD: the Zork is fine. I like something that’s easy to open. I don’t care about the pop. I really like the screwcap except that sometimes I don’t recognize it and try to open it with my foil cutter.

  • Jolie Elman

I’ve never seen it before this. It will be interesting to see if it takes off with the more well-known wines/wineries.

  • That Zork looks pretty sweet. I like the ease of the screwtop, but that “pop pop” as it breaks from the neckband isn’t the classiest sound in the world. I’ve never seen the zork anywhere before this but hope to give one a shot soon.

    zork that.

are we looking at the wines or their closures. with these wines, why drink them. they all seem blah and are only on the show cause of their tops.
i guess i might prefer the zork to a screw cap. i hate the screw cap. is the actual cork plastic?
it looks like it. they are all buy, drink, pop, pour wines, so who cares about aging them.
all in all, another way to skin a rabbit

Yes zork seems fun. I have to say though, cork is still fun and we dont want to put bottle-openers out of business…hehe. So how does the business work? Do the wine-makers choose to use zork or what. Cool.

  • Hey Mambo has been a fave of mine for a long time now! Long live the Zork! Best part of it is, also, that you can pop the zork back in if you don’t finish it all in one sitting. I love that feature!

QOTD: I haven’t seen the zork. Thanks for the introduction.

  • Zorks make me feel like I am opening a gallon of milk with the plastic twist. I much prefer screwcaps; they remind me of opening a bottle of scotch. It’s not that I don’t like milk, I just prefer scotch.

  • QOTD: I have not personally bought any wines with a Zork in them…but if some of my favorite producers started using them I would. I think it’s got a good idea…but I also think there is enough wasted plastic in other things so I’d like to see something different. I still prefer glass closures

  • QOTD: I’ve used the Zork… in fact, had some Red Knot a couple years back that I picked up at Trader Joe’s. I thought the zork was neat… definitely seems “cheap wine”ish, though… more so than a screw top. At least the screw top is metal! This is just plastic… The wine sucks too, so maybe that’s why I wasn’t too keen on the zork.

QOtd: For tailgating the Zork would be fine, for anytime I foolishly open a third bottle with just 2-4 people, it’d be fine (can’t taste by then anyway). However, I am one of those who really just love corks- part of the experience.
