two lines of the day – ‘this is like your best friend in the world coming in dressed as the opposite sex!’ and the one that made me laugh out loud: ‘this smells like a garbage truck on fire’

Phenomenal episode. First double blind ever, featuring less well known wine-growing states. All wines panned hard but that’s when the best one liners come out…and this show was full of them. Awesome

Loved the show. Now you know how I feel most of the time tasting wine, with the label in front of me. Blind tastings are very enjoyable to watch.
Are you ever going to make a trip to Italy and taste the wines there as you doin France?

You have confirmed my suspicion that you are a dyed in the world masochist. 6 blind from the other 46…STOP THE MADNESS:)

QOTD: Northern California…based on Steve F’s answer I guess we now have 51 states in the Union 🙂

Great show – but you missed out on some good wines from North Carolina! Yadkin Valley AVA – Raffaldini Vineyards, Hanover Park, for example, among a few others.

Big G, Fun show Man, but I got to call you out on one thing. I know a lot of Families who are hurting really hard from this currant recession. My house hold has felt the effects of it quite a bit. When you sneer at people comparing it to the great depression, it kind of makes me cringe. I know you have mad love for your audience and only wish the prosperity for them. It just seems that your comments come at a very sensitive time.

  • QOTD: The land of the most storied football teams in the NFL, Wisconsin, home of the Green Bay Packers.

This WLTV episode was great. Given the results, it’s on the level of the NFL Films’ Football Follies that I busted a gut watching when I was a kid!

Even if the wines didn’t score well, it was a great idea and a lot of fun to watch. Really enjoy the blind tastings. And a very big congratulations on the baby!

QOTD: Another Canadian here, from the province of British Columbia.

QOTD: I’m from Minnesota. It’s great to see Minnnesota get second place in the tasting (even though it still wasn’t 80+ points). We have an extremely harsh climate for growing grapes (wine grapes at least) with hot and humid summers with bitterly cold winters. You should try the Frontenac grape. It was created at the University of Minnesota as a hybrid for harsher climates and does fairly well in Minnesota. At least tastes better than St. Croix, in my opinion. It’s hard to put hybrids or labrusca grapes against the proven varietals, but I might have to try more Minnesota wines (the full line of Fieldstone is available at my Liquor store). Great show and congratulations again on becoming a famly man.
