Really interesting episode that highlights how much wines can change when paired with food. This is a landmark show for me as I think it was the first one I ever saw. I watched a few after this one but then went back to the beginning of the archive and have just caught up to where it all started. Still loads to see, which is great, but not sure what I’m going to do for kicks when I get to the end!

    My favorite commercial chocolate bar is “Take 5”.

    As far as artisinal chocolates Valrona and Guittard chocolates are outstanding.

    A must try IMO is the Beaufort Bar from Escazu Chocolates, a Dark Chocolate and sea salt bar.

    What is ironic was that I was at the store yesterday and I picked up a bottle of Chat De Tourettes Grenache D?endes just randomly because I love grenache based wines.

    I would highly recommend Trevor Jones Boots Grenache with chocolate because the wine itself is redolent with cocoa dusted cherries.

    QOTD: Toffee-coated milk chocolate bar–which your gourmet dept. used to carry, but I can’t seem to find any further—-I’ll have to ask if you still have it on my next trip to WL. Had some super Sonoma Wine Chocolates on our last visit to CA in December.

    Whatchamacalit (sp) is a candy bar, not a chocolate bar. Chocolate bars are chocolate with a little extra now and then. Candy bars are all extra stuff coated in chocolate.

    I thought Gary said awhile back that his favorite type of chocolate is white chocolate. (that’s not even real chocolate by the way.)

    I have been eating Callebaut semi sweet baking chocolate lately and it is nice and smooth, although a little sweet. I also like Green & Black 70% for nibbling.
