  • Nicholas Joly, what a brilliant and enlightened man, loved these episodes! I’d even say my 2 favorite episodes of Winelibrary ever.

I bought the phone special Chateau Haut Brisson La Reserve tonight and 2 cases of Zipang sparkling saki for a party this weekend, and I gotta tell you Gary, it’s because of the fantastic and friendly personal hands on customer service by you, Brian and Jeff, that I consider Winelibrary my EXCLUSIVE source today.

You guys really are the best I love you guys.

Great Show! I love it when you have legends on the show, and then they turn out to be humble, fun, and interesting people. And yes, I am happy with wine most of the time these days, I still get a klunker every once in a while.

QOTD: The wines make me happy when I drink them. Seriously, if I spend more time with a wine and give it more attention, especially when I’m drinking it with a small group of people, I enjoy it more, so in those cases much of the time I am happy with the wine I drink. Most of Gary’s recommendations are excellent.

  • Yes, even if there’s a bit more of a headache involved in said wine reaching me than maybe there ought to be.

But overall, yes. I am fortunate.

Sometimes I’m happy, sometimes I’m not.

  • Brian Smith

    Love it.

QOTD: Not after learning about BioDynamic.

  • Melissa

    M. Joly is an absolutely wonderful guest! I love his energy, his enthusiasm and his ideas. I’m going to study biodynamics further now.

QOTD: Yes, I do enjoy the wines I drink. As my palate continues to grow, I remind myself to stay open minded and try new things. I definitely want to try some of M. Joly’s wines. I hope that I can find them.

Merci beaucoup pour les informations educatifs!

Wow that guy just blew my mind I need a towel. I love to see somebody so passionate about what they do along with a philosophy of dynamic balance. AWSOME SHOW
QOTD: Most of the time I am happy with the wine that I drink but being that I don?t have a lot of cash to toss around I make due with my price range.

Wonderful episodes very interesting topic. I have limited experience, I’ve tasted some of the Cotuuri Wines (The Zinfindel, Pinot Noir and the Carignane)and I think that with my limited palate I could not truly appreciate them. For me they ran from very good to undrinkable (very syrupy, heavy).

QOTD: For the most part, unemployment and budget restraints keep me from trying some wines I know I will enjoy.

  • dafo

Can I say this is the most thought provoking episode of winelibrarytv ever. I loved every single second of it.
QOTD: I am truly happy with the wine I drink only when I am living in the moment. Whether it is a great or a ‘meh’ wine, the great part is the experience of the journey.

    Gary,

Another lurker out of the woodwork for this one, after about 150 shows. This was my favorite show, and that is saying something. M. Joly is a breath of fresh air and this was very educational, as well as entertaining. Really great.

Really a fantastic show, one of the best. Nothing more to say on the subject.

QOTD: I am happy with them. I like wines of many styles for various reasons, so I feel fortunate that it’s possible to have so many wine experiences with the massive diversity available out there.

  • ZJK

I’m back to post my full comment. I have never wanted to listen to a guest more than this fine man. I enjoyed every second and every question of this episode. Gary you have done it again, thank you so much for bringing wine into my life.

Episodes 628&629 were awesome, they really opened my mind. Are there any USA wineries using biodynamic method in their production.

  • What a Treat!, I also want to party with Nicolas.

QOTD: I am fairly pleased, not truly happy, I feel that there is still much to taste and learn and try in my lifetime, so I must say as of today, yes I am getting happier with the wines as I taste more and more.

  • qotd: Yes and No. I guess it depends on the mood im in, and whom I am drinking wine with and if its any good or not.The quality of wine I drink is hit and miss I mean I wish I could spend 80$ for a bottle of biodynamic wine, Heck even the stuff from Farmstead Wines which I have had that made me stop dead in a room at a wine tasting event was awesome but the price for what I make per hour / per year makes me say no to more then a couple of bottles which makes me say No to am I happy with wine. But yes because the wine I do have I can enjoy with a friend or family (Tho it probably is destroying our earth which sucks)

That was really really great – so interesting!

QOTD – yes, mostly. I try to drink new/different wines often, and almost always get to share with someone important to me. I look forward to trying more wines grown under these principles!

Great guest! Sounds like some of you have heard of him before. Where?

QOTD- Yes, unless I spend toooo much on bad Pinot. I think it only tastes good at restaurants.

QOTD: I am happy with the wines we are making and the wines we are drinking!

I really enjoyed this show, but I am a wine geek! Nicholas is the kind of people that made me want to get in the wine business, I am fascinated with gentlemen like him, Randall Grahm and Mike Grgich.

    GREAT SHOW GARY!

Great show… Bio-dynamics is definitely the way to go for any farm or garden! I just read a great article online on organic gardening (though only a facet of the bio-dynamic philosophy) that’s also very informative, check it out at http://plantgroweatdrink.blogspot.com

QOTD: Sure am….. Casillero del Diablo, ’07 Carmenere, Chile… Fantastic, and only $7.99!
