Tremendous episode, tremendous guest. Watching Gary learning is pure entertainment. This is what WLTV is all about; new experiences and knowledgeable, fun guests. Loved it.

Thanks for posting another episode right before I have to go get My son from school Mott!
NO really thanks a lot. I’ll watch later after bedtime.

  • RJurman

    Hey Gary,
I have to tell you, I’m getting a bit tired of all the guests. No disrespect to Richard as he seems like a nice enough guy but I watch the thunder show daily to see what “You” have to say about wine. I like the guests, but once in awhile. Today, I saw a guest and almost did not watch. How about more blind tastings? Just my opinion for what it’s worth.

GV, just read the NYT article about Cali pinot that you can actually see through. Glad that see that others besides you, myself, and a handful of other folks are sick of the jet black pinot…

I’m always surprised that the guest don’t realize they will be asking the question of the day. If I was going on a program that had this much steam and growing energy, I would do my homework.

    QOTD #1: No

QOTD #2: I find optimism in my career flexibility. I may be losing my job at the end of this year (Music Teacher), but I just came from substitute teacher work and retail the year before. It may not be ideal, but I can find work if I have to do so, and having work in these days is a lucky thing.

Thanks for the show. I’ve seen Mezcal around and watched a show on Tequila and Mezcal production (among other spirits) and now I really want to try it. I like the colorful spirits for their full flavor and would love to try a full flavored but clear spirit.

QOTD: My current optimism comes from my beautiful wife and my gorgeous 4-month old daughter. With them by my side, nothing can stop me. Except robots.

I agree with RJurman. I love most of your guests, and Richard was a cool guy, but the guest spots need to spread out a little bit more.

Really though, I enjoy you mixin your show up with spirits, beer, cheese, etc. Now if you only let Mott get on the show a little more. He’s the man!

Nice episode with a very cool guest! Loved learning about Mezcal and always thought it was an inferior product before this. I heard Blue Agave was the premium and it’s nice to find out the truth. Hardly ever have Tequila as my wife doesn’t like it, but I have some Don Julio once in a while that I think is super good. Never tried Mezcal, but I will have to go out and try some. Thanks for the great info!

GARY! Nice episode! Semi-new watcher, found you through the business world, and started watching this. Anyways.. I turn 21 in a few months.. and I wondered what would be a good way to START in the wine world?

Thanks for the show, because of you I think I found a new hobby.

  • I can attest — Sombra is incredible. Amazingly smoky aromas, beautiful on the palate, smooth as silk down the hatch. There’s nothing like it. Well done, Richard!

    GV’s QOTD: Yes
QOTD: My optimism comes from the belief that with hard work and a goal of success in many areas of my life that I will succeed no matter what. Also my mother who shaped my world like no other, is in my head all the time and I love her for that. She always said, “Positive things happen to Positive People!”

  • Gary, i don’t mean to sound rude, but i’m not really a fan of the new site design.
It looks like you just took the clothes off of the old site and just left it naked.
I was expecting you to put some better clothes on it, not just leave it naked.
    Naked analogy over.

I’d like to see a video of people rolling those down a hill.
Ha, i wrote that, and then Gary said it.

If there was ever a “regular guest”, even if it was once a year, my vote goes for Richard Betts. He’s off the hook.

Great episode. Love mixing it up a bit. Always nice to try non wine things. Expand Gary’s knowledge.

NEVER SMOKED ANYTHING. I’m impressed. Well done sir.

Gary’s QOTD: I’m going with maybe, i get very drunk sometimes and order very odd things. Lets put it this way, i don’t remember ever having it. So i guess i’ll go with no.
Amazing QOTD: MY optimism, Bit of Gary, bit of the rest of the awesome internet community, bit of the sun. Mostly though, the thought of being able to help other people. To do and say things that will make other people happier. Helping and improving other people’s lives.

Am i the only one to write my comment as i watch the show? I hope not, it seem to be the way to go these days.

QOTD: Me, I’ve got natural optimism to spare.

Also, it was really cool of Gary to send up that awesome Domaine de La Janasse CDP to our ‘lil old Boston-area offline last weekend…..Thanks, Gary!

Mezcal is great. I’m a big tequila fan, but mezcal will always have a place on my palette. This is the first winelibrarytv video I’ve seen, here’s to a Vayniac!
