I would love to sit next to GV on a plane ride. I could talk to him for hours.
QOTD: Ginger Ale everytime.

    QOTD: Jacquart NV Champagne

I just returned from France and was shocked that Air France served
Jacquart NV Champagne to me in economy class. A Grower Champagne, a ‘recoltant-manipulant’ in economy?! What a treat, I think I finished a bottle by myself.

It piqued my interest so I checked out the First Class options–their highlight was 2004 Lynch-Bages. I wonder how much those tickets were?

  • Oh yeah…Thanks for that show Homey…someone….I guess you know who….just reminded me I suggested you do that one time in a comment.

    I forgot

GV, that was a nice, quick episode. When you put the camera down on the laptop, the light was shining all around you and it looked like you were speaking from the heavens, at least until you spit:)
QOTD: I think pretty much all I drink on planes is water and fruit juice.

  • Little Jonny

YES!!! A spectacular episode! Never had the Vendange, but have had its partner in crime… Avia!

QOTD: Mrs T’s Bloody Mary Mix pairs great with the peanuts!

  • washuta

I’ve only had one… so I guess it wins. It was the Fish Eye Cabernet from Newark to Frankfurt.

    I’m still chuckling — what a fun 3 minute spot! 🙂

QOTD: don’t think I’ve ever had a wine on an airplane. . . oh, wait, yes. One of the regional airlines (Alaska Air?) serves Washington wine, and a few years ago I was on a flight where we were all given complimentary wine because we were delayed on the tarmack for a couple of hours. I believe we had a Chateau St. Michele, a riesling and a cab. A few glasses later, and I snoozed through the flight.

Generally, if I do drink something on a plane, it’s a bloody mary or a screwdriver.

Nice quick little episode… way to keep it going! Hustle 2.0 at 30 thousand feet…

QOTD: The first (and only) time I flew First Class (early 1990s)… got bumped up due to overbooking on an Alaska Air flight to Cabo… as we sat and watched the 50+ other people from my wife’s company walk by, we were able to get a whole bottle of champagne in a bucket BEFORE takeoff… think it was just Korbel, but hey, free and in First Class, who can complain.. eh..?

  • Swift episode. Not bad.

QOTD: The best drink I’ve had on an ariplane? Merlot from Chile. Then, Champagne, Veuve Clicquot.

Cool show. Thanks for the effort.

qotd: When I was 17, flying from Paris to NYC, I had a Dewers scotch on the rocks, which begain my long love affair with scotch. Moved on to single malts, but every now and again, I still enjoy tucking into some Dewer’s.

Good episode. Keep the juices flowing.

I had the Vendage Chardonnay when I was just getting into wine (pre WLTV) as selections were most limited in my home town, we had just woted to allow wine and beer sales. I remember thinking it is not too bad but knowing that there had to be more than this – just did not know what “this” was.

QOTD – Been so long since I have flown and the last time I was armed and they will not let you drink while carrying. I am guessing the last drink I had on a plane was a Bloody Mary way back in the late 70’s.

  • If you want to know where the ‘thunder’ is, it’s inside. Loved it.

QOTD: I had some amazing mango juice on the flight from Ohio to California.

  • the most expensive wine I have had-this is a while back so be it. Was a Corton Charlie. from a producer that I had never heard of. So there it is.

    Gary, that was great!

I can relate so well to the QOTD.
On a flight to Tokyo I really just wanted to sleep so I drank a LOT of of a totally unmemorable Shiraz,,,,,,,,, It must of had a very low alcohol content because I didn’t make me sleep it only made me pee!!

Nice job, your dedication to the Vayner-nation is greatly appreciated.

Up high with Gary V., the unstoppable.

Thanks for taking us on a ride with you!

Peanuts and wine eh! Sounds interesting.

QOTD: I’ve never taken a plane aside from a small sesna, in which I was too scared to try anything, not that there was anything to have to drink on a plane that size.

Cool stuff. Have a fun and safe trip. Can’t wait to have you back in the thunder saddle!

    Big ups!

  • One of my favorite episodes.

QOTD: a liter of water and Baileys on ice is in flight heaven to me.

  • I’m a fan of tomato juice and always enjoy one of those on a plane. If you need alcohol, rum and Coke is a great way to go. Airlines may buy cheap wine, but they buy the same tomato juice and Coke cans that we all buy in the stores!

    Fun Show!!!

Definitely like the flip cam wine library episodes. Definitely shows your passion to your viewers…and thank you for that.

QOTD: surprisingly, I’ve actually had a glass of Krug nonvintage champagne on an airplane before (once in a lifetime thing). usually though, my favorite beverage on an airplane is diet coke….or diet sprite if offered.

Good episode. Have never had more than seltzer on a plane, so I guess that is the best drink I have had so far. Don’t think I’ll go for the Vendange cab.

Flying to Sao Miguel (Azores, Portugal) on SATA, I had a good Douro. People clap every time you land in the Azores! I?m guessing the applause is for the pilot and Our Lady for getting us there in one piece.

  • Mario

The only wines I have ever had on a plane were a Woodbridge Cabernet (that went well with the in-flight pasta meal)and a Chardonnay/Viognier blend that I had, which was damn tasty for airplane wine.

  • Pete B

That was a tremendous idea for a show. Great job breaking new barriers on Internet TV.

QOTD – I had a pretty decent wine on Jet Blue flight from JFK to Vegas. I don’t remember the name but I remember being pleasantly surprised by the quality.
