  • Some classic lines in this ep…”So if you’re wondering where the thunder went–it’s inside!..” & “..when you’re in the air and have no other choice –I guess it’s a play..”

Also, the peanut debris all over the laptop–priceless-ly funny..

Great job with the wine tasting on the plane. This is the unique stuff that gets us excited.

QOTD – the free dutch gin in the delft house on KLM from Detroit to Amsterdam.

Have not wachted for a long while Gary but I am glad I caught this episode… I was at Hollywood Casino in Harrisburg PA this past weekend and Vendange was the house wine everwhere… Now I know why… Cheap…

  • I was on my way to Los Angeles on business, in first class and had a De Loach chardonnay, very nice with a seafood meal and several refills.

  • OK lurker coming out (took me 4 months to go through the archives).

QOTD – The free beers (can’t remember the brand, maybe Budweiser) I got after 20 hours of flight and two plane delays coming back from Japan (that was on a Northwest flight).

Love that show that was awesome! When you travel to do people recognize you much?

QOTD: I’d have to say my bloody mary on the way to Vegas a little over a year ago. I usually pass on the expensive plane drinks but it was Vegas so I had to get one.

  • Hey, cool idea! Funny that your store carries the wine. You should have gotten everyone on the flight in on it! ๐Ÿ™‚

QOTD: According to the picture of me chugging them down on a Hawaiian Airlines flight, it was the Tamรกs Estates Cabernet Sauvignon… no idea what year or anything about it, but it wasn’t bad! Perhaps that’s just cause I was on my way to Maui, though…

QOTD: Every drink I’ve had on a flight has been terrible except for the Bloody Mary.

    Another great show!

QOTD: Johnnie Walker Black on the rocks.

Never had wine on a plane, but Horizon used to give free Alaskan Amber (Beer) out on the flights. That was excellent!

Very Creative show, wonder if the lady next to you really got the gravitas of the situation. She is my new favorite internet celebrity. (Second Favorite! You’re #1!)

I appreciate the 4 min video – thanks for a quick laugh! I’ve considered cooking with vendage, but have never actually tasted it. Thanks for doing the dirty work.

i’ve never had wine on a plane, i usually stick to ginger ale.

as soon as i saw this episode i wondered what you told the person next to you before you started taping. unless you just left them to think you were talking to yourself about wine.

QOTD: A Jack and Coke that this dude on Air Canada made for me. The whole plane was asleep and homeboy kept refilling without even being asked. After my third he came over and had a drink with me (clearly against company policy). That was one of the best flights I’ve ever had. The food was actually good and the service impeccable.

    Hey Gary:

I love the Southwest airlines edition. I have traveled on Southwest Airlines many times. You sooo nailed Vendange at 67 points. It is a terrible wine and you sort of insulted Two Buck Chuck. That wine is so bad that I shift gears and head for a beer. I know I can’t go wrong with a canned item… so to answer your QOTD: Heineken

This was great! Awesome to see a change of settings and nice to review an airline wine. The altitude negatively affects one’s tastebuds, so that might have a play on reviewing the wine. With that said, airlines then should carry tastier wines just like how they over salt their foods in order for the people to taste them better too.

QOTD: Cranberry soda. And did you know they serve sake on JAL flights? yep, yum.

QOTD: I always drink ginger ale on a plane…I never realized it until now. Interesting.

Hilarious…the fact that you’d even rate it is awesome.

Shouldn’t airline wines come from good value varietals? Malbec’s, Rioja’s etc?

Best drink I’ve ever had on a flight – very simple: vodka with bitter lemon. It was on a flight to the UK, and really, let’s face it, hard to screw up a mixed drink. I admit, I’m very skeptical of wine on a plane, so I tend to stuck to mixed drinks. I would love to hear if anyone has had any wine worth drinking on a plane.

Love the dedication Gary, thanks for the show in the air.

QOTD: I was fortunate enough to fly business class on an overnight flight to London. I have no idea what wines they were serving but they just kept on pouring! Certainly made driving on the ‘wrong’ side of the road interesting the next day.

Ouch! Just when you needed it most Southwest couldn’t deliver a spit bucket.
    Darn coach seats!
Discovered ASAHI beer on a flight Vancouver to Tokyo and LOVE IT to this day!
In my top 3 with Budweiser and Tsingtao.

  • Not sure that I’ve ever bought a drink on a plane, but the Mai Tai I had at the airport in Maui was pretty good and gave me enough of a buzz to not need to buy a drink on the long flight back to Texas.

Reviewing wine on the plane: hussle hussle hussle !

QOTD: I had a Merlot on an Air France flight. I can t remember where it was from, but I do remember enjoying the bouquet after a really long day ๐Ÿ™‚
