QOTD: Bucknell University. Met my fiancee there, learned a ton from a set of great professors both in Computer Science and Music, and most of all – learned everything I needed to know about myself. It was a great place to explore and mature.

This is my first comment, i’ve been a lurker for just over a month so its time to come out of the bushes and expose myself (not literally…obviously) I am really passionate about wine, as well as everything food and drink wise from venison to tea, chips to real ale and everything inbetween. It’s very difficult because I’m struggling to find people to learn off. Watching these shows is so helpful and such an energy filled change to reading books and tasting when i can. I want to make it my career, i’m only 19 so i’m trying to get stuck in. Thanks again Gary

Fun show GV. It gives me great pleasure that the MSU wine came in dead last (even though they did make it to the championship, grr). You could totally expand on this episode …something like conference showdown. Get some wines from the Big East, Big Ten, SEC, etc. and do a blind tasting for a conference champ.

Great show! I also live in Michigan and try and taste both the local wine and the micro-brew. There is some good stuff coming out of Michigan. In my Humble Opinion it is more in the desert wine area.

I have also lived on the Central Coast of California. Would lie to see some blind tasting between the Central Coast and the Russian River Vally, Napa Areas.

Great idea by questioner: Taste some PX wines.

Take it another step. Cosco wines vs. Wall-Mart wines.

I’m sure there are plenty of others like myself. We buy are wine from big mast sellers. We get lucky a few times a year to go and search for wine direct from the source.

Nice ep! I love the fact that while you are sniffing and tasting the wines while being pretty serious about it, you have that action figure in front of you looking like he’s ready to take another guy down. Then all of a sudden you take the action figure down for whatever reason 🙂

I really enjoy the blind tastings. I learn a lot from the tips you give about how you ID the wines. I remember when you felt the shape of the bottle to help you make a call. I was like, “well duh!” why didn’t I think of that ?

Nice show! Sorry that Sparty couldn’t produce (much like in college football), but at least their bball team is gettin’ it done (Big Ten represent)!!! I was amused by the Oklahoma result; moral of the story… vintage matters!

QOTD: Hmmmm… I’ve always been a big fan of The Ohio State University when it comes to sports (and I’m currently being financially supported by them to attend/pursue grad school), but I don’t think this fine institution necessarily provides the best education for undergraduates. My BIG UPS go to Denison University (a small liberal arts college in Ohio), which brings SERIOUS THUNDER! It’s pricey, but is a great value. Most other NCAC schools are too… (a shout out to Tooch, a Kenyon Grad, whose entry is just a couple of posts above mine)

Gotta go with the big old University of Texas Long Horns for favorite university, I was born here, my parents and grandparents went there, what can I say, despite not attending UT I bleed burnt orange.

Loved the show! I am fairly new to Wine Library TV, and I am loving every episode. I love wines and its great to hear your opinions on many different kinds, defiantly trying new wines thanks to you.

QOTD: I am rooting for my college all the way in Northern Ontario, Northern College, as I am graduating this year. Will be sad to see college days behind me.

From a graduated student of Walla Walla Community College’s Viticulture and Enology program and now an employee of Thurston Wolfe Winery in the Yakima Valley it was AWESOME to see Washington shine through! Think about the concept of “own rooted vinifera”, it really does mean something. Cheers to you and your spot on palate!
