line of the day – ‘the amount of tropical fruit that has been going down my pipehole lately has been shocking’

Great episode. GV starting to get a bit cocky, but that suits this episode. The guest was really knowledgeable and the final wine was a monster. Even Mott had some decent input! Nice one.

John Ferrin has a good idea…I think a newbie column would be a great idea. It’s very daunting getting into the wine world, and something tailored towards the beginner would be nice to see.

Gary and Alan Kropf were great together. Funny and entertaining. Awesome episode!!

    Gentlemen,

Nicely done. I’m going to go look for change under vending machines until I have enough money to get a bottle of that Condrieu. Sounds tasty.

QOTD: Always love to think (and hear/read) about beverages in the context of food.

Gary you were pretty tuff on this poor guy. You grilled him like a dectective at an interogation.

QOTD:I would like to see some coverage on obscure beverages like Grappa.

Very good Episode Guys. We just started carrying Mutineer Magazine at the winery “Travessia Urban Winery”. I had to work yesterday at the winery so I was flipping through the mag and really fell in love with it…such interesting reading. Yesterday was the first time I ever picked this magazine up and now I cant put it down.

QOTD: not sure yet…let me read some more

  • First, thank you “brother Brian” for defending this great nation. Second, thank you both for a great show. Third, good to see Alan on the show, I remember when he commented on my artwork on OWC. Thay guy’s a hustler.

QOTD: How about a beverage art section?

    Very exciting show!

I’ve not heard of the magazine before, being in Canada and all, but I will check out the website.

Fun and honest guest, knows his stuff (except maybe the Condrieu producer question).

    Great!

  • “It feels like it’s ripping my face off.” Easily my favorite quote to day from Gary on WLTV. 😉

QOTD: What I want out of a magazine is quick, entertaining, but useful reference information. I want an easy read that’s engaging while I sit down at the local pub for a brew, or grab dinner on a Wednesday night. I also want a cheap price, because otherwise I’m getting my information off the net.

On a side note, I like your passion, drive, and desire to move forward with a medium that you believe in. I’m going to try out a subscription of your mag for sure.

Thanks Brian and the 82nd for everything you do to protect our country!

    Amazing show!

QOTD: It would be great to see you run a series of stories on the home brew scene. To many great brands are first created in peoples garages. Wine, Beer, Rootbeer, Spirits, Teas, you name it, people are making superb beverages driven simply by their passion and love for the drink.

Fun episode. Glad other sports fans give you crap about the Jets. This was such a positive show that I am still not sure how to react. You agreed with your guest and really liked some of the wines. It will take time for this to sink in. Not sure how to answer the QOTD. I enjoyed having him on the show, but have not read his magazine yet. Keep up the good work (both of you).

Watched this show and last week’s one with “the winechick” back-to-back. Both these guests led to good conversations.

I asked myself the same thing, though, that Zino did above. Something seemed fishy (or smokey). Gary, I love how the unedited format for this show leads to transparency — it’s one of the reasons that I spend my free time watching this instead of edited TV.

QOTD: I love the brown-bag tastings on this show, and I’d love to read them in print as well. With wine, I love it when a few tasters with different pallettes drink the same wine and give notes. Other than that, maybe have “blindfold tests” like Down Beat has.

Great episode! I love viognier, but I love the fact that it’s still under the radar and an exceptional value play. I think I might pick up a bottle on my way home from work this week.

QOTD: I want to see new and interesting things reviewed (like when Gary V. did that “blood” episode a while back) … but I also want some guidance on to where to find these products.

Also, I’d like to hear more about what people are drinking in other countries. The beer I drank in Italy was different from an American or Belgian brew, and then their entire coffee experience is completely different from our own – yet I didn’t know about this until I actually traveled there! I want to know about what they drink in Japan or Australia or Belize, etc etc. The more, the better.

I will absolutely check out the magazine, hope it does well.
