Shame to see so many mediocre wines in one episode.
QOTD: Yellow Tail Sparkling Rose, I tasted it side by side with Korbel Brute and boy was it disapointing.

QOTD: 2007 Budini Malbec. Poured it out. Only $10, so no biggie.

QOTD: I have been on roll lately and have not had a wine that I would categorize as disappointing in the last 30 days. A sure sign that I need to head to Vegas while luck is on my side.

Where did you get bad wine on the THUNDER CRUISE?
QOTD 2001 Castello di Amorosa Merlot. I bought 5 bottles and 2 were vinegarish and two wer barely drinkable. One was very good. The big ass Castle in Napa is sending me 5 newer Merlots. Stay tuned.

A Sylvain Bailly Quincy 06. Thought it would be a poor man’s Bailly sancerre, but at 17 bones it was a pazzz. Rather shell out 3 or 4 more bucks for the real thing.

QOTD: 2007 Terrazas Malbec. I have been lovin’ the Malbec that I been having, but this wine was like if someone had taken a bottle of Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice and dump 3/4 of it out and filled it back up with rubbing alcohol. It was all fire.

QOTD: 2004 Two Hands Aerope (and i’m a big two hands fan) -excited to try zippy’s block –sorry to go new world on everyone.

Watching the ep brought back all the fun of the Cruise! Great people, fascinating ports of call, very good wine… My family and I had a delightful time.

Looking forward to next year!

I remember the rumble coming from the ship. It is really amplified here. Again thanks for the work GV. My most recent disappointing wine was on the cruise. The Sette Ponti Oreno 2006. This is a 97 point WS wine and I can’t figure out how they would know. This wine was so tannic that my teeth ached and no fruit seemed to come out in the nose or taste. the Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia 2005 was a close second.

QotD – Would easily be the WL free shipping – Green Groves Sav Blanc I tried it this weekend and thought I was drinking air and it made Monkey Run taste like a 99 point wine. I guess I have 1/2 a case of cooking wine now…real disaster

While the Dashe certainly sounds like a try, the price points were a little out of my range.
Never the less, it’s fun to share in your reviews…….particularly when a higher priced wine bombs.

QOTD. A 2007 NOTRO Tinto de Montana. A Sagioverse/Bonarda 50/50 blend from Mendoza.
Love Argentine wines, but my palate couldn’t handle this blend.
Now……….what to do with the other bottle?

@Giovanni Vino, I think WL has a returns policy that might help. I’m not absolutely certain but I believe dissatisfaction with the wine (as opposed to an outright fault) is one of the conditions. Give them a holler! Couldn’t hurt.
