My favorite desert wine so far is Southcoast Winery’s Muscat Canelli. Anyone tried it?

I’ve been watching your show since the 300+ episodes and I have never left a comment. What a terrible fan I have been! 🙁 Here’s to my first and many more! I enjoyed watching as always.

QOTD1: I’d say the one that was most desirable by my pallete is
Strewn Icewine Vidal Niagara Peninsula 2005. Goes for about 25$ up here in the cold north. Gives off a very orangy aroma and it wasn’t ridiculously sweet.

    QOTD2: Mott is LEGENDARY! 🙂

  • If you’re drinking enough water, your urine should be the color of cheap, industrial Pinot Grigio, not the JC Cellars late harvest Viognier!

QOTD: a couple months ago I tasted some ’77 Fonseca. ‘Nuff said.

2006 Fleur de Pins Graves & Chateau Rabaud Promis Sauternes…both were excellent; I should have waited another year or two on the Sauternes though!

  • Mott is the greatest! How about a monthly Mott-wine-tv to see his opinion to the wines you tasted before?

QOTD: definately some awesome BA and TBA Rieslings from Germay!

Big G, Long time bro. I’ve been crushing it in the Wrestling world. Some good things on tap. Possible TV show and Europe tour. Anyway, hit me up and I’ll give you the 411.
I love Viognier, but I like the not so sweet stuff. Anyway, I think the question of the day should be what Episode # do you think Gary will have his Baby on?

QOTD: Had that Jackson Ice Wine and I would say it’s a big PaZZZZZZZZZZZ. Mott Rules!

    QOTD: Rabaud Promis 2001. Beautiful.
    And Mott is da man!

  • QOTD: A 2002 Late Harvest Gewurztraminer from Michigan’s Old Mission Peninsula still drinking great with all the sugar in there.

QOTD2: Mott’s great and you’ve been having him taste a lot more wine recently.

    Good luck with the mini-vaynerchuk

  • Gary, I watching now since EP 16 or 18, you tasted hundreds of Sauterne, Tokaji, “late harvest” things BUT NO GERMAN Riesling BA (Beerenauslese) or TBA (Trockenbeerenauslese) ..(come on, show me your German pronunciation skills, I taught you that on the Thunder Cruise 😉

    @QOTD
A 2007 Silvaner TBA from Philipp Kuhn out of the Pfalz region with 320g rs/liter and 15g acid!

Your “Big Guy from Germany”, medo aka Nico

Sweet wines aren’t on the radar now. The 05 Rabaud Promis I had recently is still sitting open in the fridge…meh. You drink them warm also? I think when something is made to be drunk cold, that’s how you should taste it. Would you appreciate a Coors at 80 degrees?

The color reference is bad. No need to go there. What would Sasha say. Cat peeeeee is bad enuff.

To be honest, I’m just 23 years old and while I have tasted some sweet Rieslings and Sauternes I have close to zero interest in dessert wines. The funny thing is, I still find watching these episodes a better way to kill time than watching tv shows such as Scrubs, even if the wines are not ones I would even consider buying in near future. I wonder when some tv network will contact Gary about a reality tv show, or has they already?

QOTD: When I had started following this vlog for a while I had no idea what this Ma (yeah I learned the name later) dude was like. I always thought of him as some younger dude (kinda like the awkward dude in tv series Party Down, which I did like to some extent) who likes to shoot his own movies and play guitar. But of course he’s an important part of the show, and I like the fact that he makes appearances every now and then.

so digging the late harvest viognier show. i had maybe a hint that it was out there but not like riesling and so forth – nice.

QOTD – it was actually for xmas 08 (close enough) a 1990 vouvray, clos boudoin from the prince. i was kinda bummed cause the wine merchant told me that it was a demi sec so that i could drink it with fish but it was sweet all day long… so it got bumped up to desert and an aperotif for the next day.
    it was nicccccccce
    peace gary
get some sleep cause you are going to be missing it soon
    jason : )

  • Loved this episode… I love cinnamon too so I’ll have to check out the JC Cellars Viognier.

Anybody willing to put $50 on the sex of baby Vaynerchuk? I think it’s a girl!

  • QOTD: Fernando de Castilla Antique PX. The longest, most elegant and complex PX I’ve tasted since living in Jerez. Difficult to get the same level of natural acidity down in Southern Spain as you would in say Germany. This means you often end up with pretty rich and sometimes cloying wines. However this wine has just enough acidity to make it a great match for vanilla ice cream and biscotti. Try it!!

Gary and Mott: Thanks for continuing with your indispensable show. Great stuff!

Good show!!! I’m crazy about dessert wines. For me nothing can top the sweet german rieslings! The best I had this year so far was ‘Eitelsbacher Karthäuserhofberg’ Auslese Goldkapsel 2005, Riesling from Ruwer region (about 50?). W.O.W.!!!

Good to see a show on Viognier dessert wines. I’ve never tried one, didn’t know they existed. I’ll try to find one, are they made in Europe ? I’m now interested to see what they can bring to the sweet wine table.

Like the shirt by the way and I wish you well with your impending new arrival. Hope you;re filling up the sleep tank.

QOTD: Campbells Rutherglen Muscat, MERCHANT PRINCE ( no bull crap ). It was quite viscous, but so delicious that it didn’t matter. Mott is very awesome, certainly not a one trick pony.
