  • Loved these episodes. Good history lesson. I know what you mean about female winemakers. Don’t they have more taste buds then men too? I remeber reading that somewhere. Thanks for introducing us to the world of Daniel Schuster. I’d love to try those wines.

yeah daniel is the man. that was awesome having a wine legend on the show, rather than people who don’t know anything, or very little. more famous winemakers are heartily welcomed.

  • Killer show man… I was afraid you were going to jump a nasty shark with those college aged posers. Reaching our to another demographic is fine but it’s guests like this that will keep you unique and all us engaged. Daniel Schuster seemed to be just getting into some deep wine making/life shit. If you had the time for another two-parter you might just draw out of him the grit that reflects the blood/sweat/tears that is required to create something truly great. I am sure you have dealt with a fair bit of that yourself.
You have a real talent for recognizing the best qualities of guests and you are starting to really develop that. Keep up the good work and KEEP IT REAL!!!

QOTD: I would have no idea of anything in a blind tasting. I could tell red from white and that’s it. “My pinot is bigger than your pinot” …funny…great show…

Daniel was the best guess of all time. I’ve said that about a dozen other guests but Daniel was great. His Pinot line, hilarious.

Oh wow – GaryV has a man crush. This is just str8 bromance right here.

Actually, Daniel’s charming and humble and so entertaining. I wish I could be half as witty as him and English is his 2nd language. Impressive sir.

    Thanks for the great show.

I guess he likes women. But to wake up to a pear, armagnac, Stilton combo would be a deal breaker.

Great show, Daniel is quite the storyteller I see. And GV, Mr. Wallace is one of the best, but Tupac is hands down the apex when it comes to rap.

QOTD: No, I see no difference or would I think you would be able to.

He makes the guy in the Dos Equis commerical look like a chump!”

i was going to say something to this effect but this one summed it up rather well.

QOTD: i am doing good if i can tell the difference between norton and cab.

this man is straight up awesome. there are so many great quotes in these two episodes. i loved the line in part one about still needed a criminal conviction to come to australia, that’s pretty much the one thing australians won’t joke about, even if it can be hilarious. i wish i had visited his winery while i was in marlborough.

qotd: for me, i would say that i can’t do that, but i could see how it would be possible for someone with some serious skills.

Great great show, that I have to watch at least once or twice more.
qotd: I’ve also found female winemakers to be more concerned with balance and grace rather than power, but can think of a several exceptions for both genders, and wouldn’t put money on my ability to pick them out blind.

  • Did the guest star in “Kill Bill”?

Great episode(s) and The Guest. Have made his breakfast recipe (for a dinner desert , though) and it was appreciated.

QOTD: Good Wine game! Will be attempted on unsuspecting guests soon.

  • Great guest, great show.

Mr Shuster is a fantastic example of the ‘people’ part of the wine experience.

Congratulations to you and Lizzy! =)
So, will you and Misha be doing a wine library special where you do milktastings? 😉
Standard milk, Whole milk, Reduced-fat milk, Low-fat milk and Skimmed milk.

Cos the vino will have to wait a few years 😉

Mazel Tov to you and Lizzy, GV! Perhaps Misha will become a fabulous winemaker and bring the balance Daniel talked about.

Fantastic guest, by the way. Daniel was fascinating and so funny! Hopefully I can get my hands on some of his pinot before he hikes the price. Without question, this two-parter is one of my absolute favorites, right up there with Sasha’s appearance.

    Congratulations Again!

QOTD: Wow…I have not thought of trying to see if I could tell the difference between a female’s take of a wine and a male’s. I’ll have to see if i can’t set up a blind tasting in the future to test this.

What a phenominal guest! I hope you get his Pinot in…I’d love to try it. I’d also like to see him at your next super tasting in the store. It’d be great to get to meet him.
