It’s a little bit funny that GV tells us to expand the palate by trying different grapes and the samples turn out to be urgh..:) well I’m trying to taste more and more varieties, but my wallet is hurting. Any suggestions how to get more tasting for less buck?. Except for crashing parties, sign upp for serious wine school and such. At the moment I usually buy three bottles of different wines and taste them, recork with a vacuum seeler and try them two more times in a timeframe of 5 days.

QOTD: Living in Sweden I don’t know much about Omaha, but Nebraksa comes to mind. I don’t know why.

Gary – Even these basic episodes (low priced/value wines) are good and interesting. One poster (Lunar, I think???) brings up a good comment. It’s very tough on one’s pocketbook to try to expand their palette and strike out on a good portion of the wines. That’s probably why critic reviews play such an important role.

I figured you would get a lot of comments about the lady’s appearance – sure enough!

QTD – From early childhood, Mutual of Ohmaha’s Wild Kingdom on Sunday nights. Someone even mentioned Marlin Perkins … wow, I never would have remembered the host. Wasn’t “Mutual of Ohmaha” an insurance co. whose logo was an Indian. Also, I think … flat land, sparse land … have no idea if that’s true or not but that’s what comes to mind.

good episode, your description of both the nose and flavor profile of the malbec was about as precise as I think I’ve ever heard. I had one of those green electric boxes too.
