QOTD: It’s a toss up between Cap’n Crunch and Corn Flakes with fresh peach slices. But if it were still available, my favorite would be Smurfberry Crunch.

Couldn’t bear to open up this show. Finally cracked because I missed your spirit and the wines looked interesting. Perhaps at a later date you might try to pair some steel-cut oatmeal with a hint of cinnamon or blueberries or even raisin bran, morning glory muffins or my fave… bagel and cream cheese with homegrown yellow tomatoes and fresh herbs and shallots. Sorry it is breakfast time for me. How appropo! Recently tried Guigal’s Rhone Viognier, Marsanne, Rousanne with tartine. Loved it!! As my wine world has forever changed because of the show I purchased a Gruner Vetliner, Tasmanian Pinot Noir and Inzolia Siciliana. Enjoyed Terlato and the last comments (like out takes or add ons after….we are changing the wine world).

QOTD: Been on a granola kick lately. Quaker Life Cereal used to be my favorite cold cereal. Maypo is a “hot” cereal fav along with Maple Brown Sugar Oatmeal.

I’m kind of weirded out by this episode, but only because last night I was drinking Chardonnay and out of a purely mindless craving I grabbed a handful of dry cereal. The weird thing, it wasn’t Cinnamon Toast Crunch, but Total’s version of it, Cinnamon Crunch. I’m totally freaked out by the coincidence!

I would have never given it another thought, but it did go well together, haha. I laughed through this whole episode. I don’t think I would do it with milk, but I’m going to give it another conscience try again tonight, the chardonnay with Cinnamon Crunch!

QOTD: My all time favorite is a cereal that Total doesn’t make anymore, I think it was Maple Brown Sugar. But second to that I am with Mott, Golden Grahams all the way!

  • I eat a homemade granola from Harry’s diner in Santa Fe and I can’t even imagine any wine that goes with granola. I haven’t eaten any of those cereals more than once so the pairings to me would be gross. Whole episode smacks of a Seinfeld episode about cereal. Kudos to GV for the really positive NY Times article by Eric Asimov on September 9. By the way, my wide really likes the Landmark Chardonnay.

Gary, what a great episode and one I’ve been waiting for. I couldn’t believe it when you said that cereal was your favorite food because it is mine as well. I eat it two-three times a day. I is the perfect meal. What other meal can you eat and drink at the same time? My only issue is that sometimes the acidic wine and milk upset the stomach so it’s all about moderation.

    QOTD: healthy – Grape Nuts
    Moderately healthy – Frosted Mini-Wheats
Sugar, sugar, and more sugar – Friuty/Coco Pebbles

I didn´t liked the show. I will never try cereal with wine, just the idea of having milk with wine makes me feel sick. I respect everyones opinion on the matter, but for me wine deserves a more serious approach than pairing it with cereal.

QOTD : Anything that has blueberries in it 🙂

Gary I couldn’t help but laugh out loud during your whole 30 seconds of munching on Captain Crunch. I think you spent less time reviewing the wine…

It’s my favorite cereal of all time too, so I understand WHY.

  • Really awesome show. But surprised that you didn’t pair some of these cereals with a nice red. Something less sweet. Perhaps to balance out the sugary flavor of many of these cereals.

Gary!!! I’m back!! I missed you and WLTV dearly, and I can’t wait to catch up on some episodes.

QOTD: Right now I’m on a Special K redberries kick, maybe you could pair a red with that! I also love the Reese’s Peanut Butter Puff things and Cocoa Pebbles but rarely eat them.

QOTD: Lucky Charms all the way. It could be because my mom never let us eat them when we were young because she said they were unhealthy, but now that I’m on my own, I love my some Lucky Charms.
