    Gary–cool show. i agree with you about Albarino. I’ve only tried 1 before, the 2006 Dous Albarino Riax Baixas, $13, which I scored an 87 when I tasted it about 9 months ago. I like the style of those wines, and I still think they are a great value and a nice alternative white wine.

    I’m sure you’ve mentioned who 55 is, but I don’t remember. I’m sure you’ll mention it again. I actually thought that I had seen it once, but I guess not.
    I’m sure that it was my idea to have shows at football games. If anyone deserves a ticket to a Pats game, it’s me. Sometimes I feel like I’m living in a parallel Vaynerchuk universe.

  • Atteca has been one of the only wines from Senor Ordonez that has gotten the boot at our house. We bought some last year on the strength of his name and the nice package and price point. We were also pretty disappointed because it seemed to deliver so much less than expected. I got the chocolate notes as well, but it was too herbaceous to balance out. The chemical smell (we got that too) may simply be post fermentation “adjustments”…where manipulation by the winemaker (or wine manufacturer) is harder to disguise.

    Will look for the La Cana Albarino…thanks!
