  • Cool and interesting! Thanks for the info. When it comes to great wine, Paris winery is just a name on the list. Good luck on everything. By the way, I found a fantastic Paris adventure that might interest you too. Thanks and have a wonderful day!

Well since the weekend has begun, my wife and I are enjoying a very nice Terlato wine called Angels’ Peak 2006(95% merlot, 5% Cab Franc). Picked it up at Rutherford Hill in Sept, we also became wine club members on that visit. Great show with Mr. Terlato by the way. Good luck to the Jets. Hope my Lions have a little something for the Packers Sunday.

    Hey Gary, love the show.

As one of your fans from the land of the rising sun, I’ve always assumed that the wines you taste couldn’t be found here, so you can imagine my excitement when today I not only found the Calera Chardonnay here available on-line, but the 2003 and 2006 vintages as well. Have you ever tried the 2003 or the 2006? If so, would you recommend going for the older vintages rather than the 2008?

By the way, have you ever considered tasting wines made in Japan (including sake), on the show? I would definitely like to hear what you think.

QOTD. Not sure yet, but tonight we’re going to have risotto, so I’m thinking a red.

750 ml–I’m also in KC, and, yes, it’s getting quite cold for October. Love the single-wide IPA, but right now I’m drinking a Gary Farrell 2005 Starr Ridge Vineyard Pinot.

  • QOTD: As of right now I’ve got a bad chest cold and will only be drinking tea. My preferred tea is a decaf Irish Breakfast (loose leaf).

QOTD: Not sure and am a little surprised to see your lack of confidence in your Jets O. 16 points against a team that is in clear disarray? I’m going Jets 27 – Bills 10. Now, when I’m snugged-up watching my Bears it’ll be something big and in my face and w/the guns of L. Briggs. Maybe Cali, WA, or Northern Rhone. I’m thinking Syrah. Either way, I hope we are both happy Boys on Monday. Cheers, G. and stay chill on your book signing.

QOTD: Opened a Bastianich Rosato to pair with a Bean dish. Wine didn’t have enough upfront fruit for me, kind of yeasty. The “Pink Floyd” Rose at the Super Tasting was much better. On Sunday, it coincidentally will be a Chardonnay taste-off. Probably the Fischer-Whitney vs. the Newton unfiltered.

    Gary,

This weekend I am drinking (so far as I can tell) a 2005 Incanto Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and a 2004 Bruno Porro San Luigi Dolcetto di Dogliani. I hate to disappoint you, but the Bills might beat the Jets. Don’t get the champagne ready until the 3rd quarter.

    Gary,

Nice show. But, I have to disagree with the Jets Bills score. Hoping it is a shootout b/c I have lynch and T.O on my FF team.
