Awesome episode! Canadian wines seem unique.

What do you think makes them special?

  • Quirky video but I loved it. Good to see no monsters under the bed too.

QOTD: I love Canada’s west coast, but never made it East to Toronto or even central for that matter. I’ll have to check out their wines, don’t think I’ve ever had one.

QOTD 2: El Puntido Rioja, 90pts for me.

    Happy Halloween, Gary and crew.

PS- You should dress Misha up as a grape (how fitting)… 🙂

    Gary,

I appreciate you taking time to do a show from your hotel room in Toronto! I’ve never been there but want to visit one day.

My last wine was Milton Park Shiraz, a $10 wine that did not bring much thunder, though for that price we unfortunately can’t expect much any more. It was OK with beef roast, but nothing special. I would give it about an 85… Mott!!

G…please don’t start using the *going forward* catch phrase. I’ve been hating on that for about the last 6 years and it’s just played. I am soooo done with that…going forward.

QOTD(a): Good fishing and love Vancouver. Never been to Toronto. Hear they have good strip clubs.

QOTD(b): Had a nice South African Chard. (Glen Carlou) that would probably go in the mid-upper 80’s. Also had a Turley Zin. last week that was liked by all for it’s fruit and smoothness.

btw – 1000 is only a few eps away. You better start thinking 2k baby!

Canada…great place, people up north are amazing
never been to the east coast though, vancouver is awesome

    last wine
    Barnaut grand reserve, http://www.champagne-barnaut.com/
interesting solera champagne, pinot driven from bouzy
however, would have to score it an 89

would try the blanc de noirs or the rose they offer for sure

    That town does look beautiful!

QOTD: Haven’t been to Toronto or anywhere else in Canada, so don’t have much to say on that. Last wine I had was 2007 Las Rocas Granacha ($12), and for me it was a major meh. I’d give it 80-82 points. I was looking for a bit more delish factor.

    Gary,
You sounded lonely. Good that you’re getting home to the family.
QOTD: 2009 Susana Balbo Crios Torrontes – 90 points. It was my first Torrontes, which I sought out after seeing you taste a few on WLTV. Really, really liked it.

I love Canada! As far as I’m concerned, Vancouver is one of the best cities in the world! I’m American but live in China.

Last wine I had….Great Wall NV Red I give it 69 points. (Chinese wine sucks, but I’m sure they’ll get it right someday)

no longer a lurker, oh yeah!

Last wine: 2006 Patrick Javillier (burgundy). I loved this wine. I’m a newbie that got my feet wet with Pinot Noir from CA and now I’m graduating to Burgundian wines. I rate is a 90.

Vancouver Island, BC is one of my favorite places to visit. We went salmon fishing north of the San Juans at a place called Quadra Island when I was a kid… it’s gorgeous!

Bet you’re excited to get home and see your family again.

Last wine I had was a Gabbiano Chianti Classico… it was a “meh” for me. Probably an 83. Most interesting thing about it was the smell – it was like a barn… had the hay/dirt thing going on.

QOTD- love Canada. I was first through in 1973, starting in Quebec City all the way to Vancouver. Obviously before wife and kids. My kind of people. And I have to agree GV, Toronto is a spectacularly cool city. Like it a lot!
