  • I’ll be with the family at the cottage in Northern Michigan; it’s by far my favorte holiday with the great food, family and usually wine. I’ll probably bring a zin, a syrah and a riesling; maybe a sparkler too 🙂

    PS–What happened to the “original” Jet’s bucket?

    We?re going to the University Club in Saint Paul, where our old pal F. Scott Fitzgerald hung out when he was in town as an adult. I should look at their wine list…

    Also, my girlfriend and I tried the 2007 Foxglove Zinfandel just the other day; I glanced around for a chaser immediately after swallowing. I definitely Anton-Ego?d my way straight back to the girls? wing of our freshman dorm at Oregon in 2003 — vodka shots!

    Oh the Zin. Summer BBQ, Turkey Day, cold and blustery Winter…the Zin stands tall thru them all. BTW – The ’07 Neyers is a killa. I’ll also be on the lookout for that Miner…thanks for slipping that in.

    QOTD: Taking the Wife out to a place she’s mentioned about a gazillion times. They’ve jazzed up the menu for T-Day (Turducken, short ribs, swwet potato stuffing, etc. so it should be fun. I’m sure there’ll be a Zin cracked, too.

    QOTD: Western Arizona with my father and brother. I’m not cooking and there are no “fancy” restaurants where we’ll be, so no wine with dinner; but I may find something interesting to take along for afterwards.

    Thanksgiving to me is the best holiday of all. Family… food… and football! Who could ask for more? And it isn’t like Christmas where everybody is all stressed out about making sure you get to see everyone and everyone sees you no matter how much it kills you. Thanksgiving is laid back. In my opinion, Thanksgiving is the holiday that Christmas should be but isn’t.

    QOTD: 2006 St. Cosme Valbelle Gigondas and a 2004 Chateau Puech Haut Tete De Belier Rouge. My family all has “California palettes” and I’m going to change them. Whether they like it or not. 😉

I literally just ordered some Deloach because it sounds like my dad’s kind of wine, and I’m thinking maybe that CW Chilean Pinot from the other day. hmmm… decisions.
