As a big Pinot fan its sad to hear your tastes are moving back in the other direction.

QOD: venturing up to boston to be with my girlfriend for thanksgiving. I have no idea on what wine to pair with my vegetarian thanksgiving dinner that I will be cooking. She has a wine store she likes to frequent so i guess ill make a trip over there to figure it out

Too bad about the oak on the RRV Zin.. because that bright RRV fruit is a better match for thanksgiv than something like richer Dry Creek or Alexander Zins.. I like the Dashe Enfante Terrible for a Bird day wine. and a nice Pinot Gris from Alsace or Oregon.

Good show, Gary. Zin is one of those wines I have kinda been keeping low on the list in favor of more “interesting” or “off-beat” varieties; but i think around this time of year is a good time for Zin and I may have to taste some before the end of the year.

Thinking of bringing a Gruner Veltliner–what are your/the vaynernation’s thoughts of this variety w/thanksgiving food? Also maybe a Burgundian Pinot Noir with a little age on it for those nice earthy/mushroomy notes.

Hey Gary, I really enjoyed the show today. Tis the season for zinfandel. QOTD: I plan on eating dry turkey, drinking Mazzocco zin, and heading for the sofa to watch football.

QOTD: My wife, daughter and I will be heading north to Adrian, Mi to stay with my parents, and have Thanksgiving dinner with 12 other family members. And to cry over another Lions defeat.

We’re bringing a couple Zins, Pinots, and a port or 2.

More Zin shows please. Outside of a barolo or brunello they are my favorites.

Good show on the Zins… for turkey day I’ll be in MD with family, probably opening a bottle of Washington state Syrah, and some Lemberger if I can find some around the DC area
