Best moment is when Robert Parker says that we should be making wine more accessible and friendly and GV turns the camera on himself to capture a big smile and a wink. That was a real laugh out loud moment for me https://khosim.com/

Was the name of this Wine Event ‘Wine, Toupees and Comb-overs’ ?

  • Hard to believe grown people do this over something that has been made for thousands of years. Wonder why we don’t have banana tastings, ugh? man.

Thanks for the view to a boring event. hahaha. At least the wine glasses were numbered underneath, I picked up that idea. like it!

QOTD: best wine tasting? easy. at home with friends and neighbors, where I had 15 wines and matched each to a food, so it was an afternoon/evening of great times.

    good show!

Great look at an insider event.
QOTD: My favorite wine event was a class/tasting of German and Austrian whites led by Terry Theise, who you need to have on your show!

QOTD: The Vayniac Cabernet blending party at Crushpad- just too many good peeps and a crazy variety of wines.
The Diane Harder Annual industry portfolio tasting at Campanile last year was a close second.

Was lucky enough to do a Haut Brion tasting in Toronto at Splendido restaurant. It was led by Phillipe Delmas the head winemaker who in my opinion is a stuck up individual. When I asked him privately over some Dom Perignon at the reception if he was aware of Le Clos Jordanne winery in the Niagara Peninsuala which is a joint venture between Vincor and Boisset wines of Burgundy he looked at me as if I was from Mars at the suggestion that we could produce great wines here in Ontario. The 2005 Claystone Chard recently beat out all competitors from France and California at a blind tasting in Montreal. The wines that night were incredible and included the 1982 Haut Brion, but the best for me was the 2004 Haut Brion Blanc, a stunning wine. But because of Phillipe, I must say my best tasting experience was with Brian Schmidt of Vineland Estates winery, who so passionately took my wife and I on a spontaneous crazy down in the cellars tour, try everything on site out of barrel and tank. What an incredibly down to earth and passionate individual. He is now a friend and I do believe he is making fabulous value driven wines. Joel

Wow, how hard was it for you not to look around the room when you said the “they” in “…they like it or not”? I could almost feel the tension in your muscles to keep your head straight and eyes on the camera. Love it.
Although, I did have to throw up four times from the motion sickness. Besides that it was awesome to see the RP (I suggest a new toupee) in his element and an inside look at what was clearly an bodacious wine event.

QOTD: Grand California Wine Tasting last October in Tokyo.

  • Gary I loved this, what a great video… I’m going to go back and watch again. I felt RP had the perfect opportunity and should have acknowledged what you have done to educate the wine world. I know how modest you are, but when that topic comes up your table should be a riser above theirs:-) I’ve meet Kevin Z before and took a class of his… great guy.
