Still don’t get the chianti, even had a top notch reserva d’oro with steak which they say the acidity really pairs up with. I just ended up supremely disappointed and out $45 I would never pay more than $12 for a bottle.

Nice little array of wines today. Definitely not spending $42 on chianti. Never had 100% Semillon, I may have to seek out that one.

QOTD: Never really gotten into higher end Tequila/Mezcal. Would be interested to try some. I do like the margaritas though, as long as they have a healthy dose of the good stuff.

Serena is a total babe! I have had a Semillion but not of that ones aparent quality, need to check that out.

MEZCAL!
Del Maguey Pechuga, is one of my favorite drinks of all time, and one of the greatest spirits the world has to offer – up there with the finest Single-Malts, Cognacs, etc. Peerless complexity and soul.

Great guest, great show. Totally need to try more wines from South Africa.

QOTD1: Already answered, though I knew it.
QOTD2: I like both…the mezcal tasting at Mesa Grill was good, but at Topolobampo in Chicago…amazing. On the tequila side, I prefer Don Julio’s line to some of the more domestically available Cuervo and Sauza.
