Hi GV!! Welcome back!! We missed a lot your wine insights this 5 years. Being an original Vayniac, and thru all this years asking for you to come back, its very nice to see everything changed for the best. Hope the family is very well, Sasha, AJ, Lizzie and Misha (a little baby when you stopped WLTV)! I myself, have a lovely couple babies at home, 30 month old boy and 8 month old girl. Hope WLTV is back to stay!! QOTD: 2012 Quinta Maria Izabel tinto, Douro. Great wine!

New rule – Whenever Mott makes an appearence he gets to ask the QOTD.

QOTD: Bring the stories to the table. I still talk about how Santa Marg became the most popular white in the US. That was a great story and makes wine drinking that much more enjoyable.

For the new year I’d like the Cork’d app to be ready!

QOTD: Why lock yourself into any one format? Do what you want. The last time I checked we morons weren’t paying a dime for any of this. In addition, I think that not knowing what will come next is part of the appeal. As always, thank you.

Is this a joke? Legras? GV now has reviewed legras approximately 6 times, out of maybe 30 champagnes? Seriously? They do sell other brands GV, maybe you don’t, but they do…

First off, I had never seen Mott and that is not what I expected him to look like. Haha. I would like to see more blind tastings. I really like that, but I’m not sure for every episode. Maybe do it every Friday or Monday.

  • Three words: SIR GARY VAYNERCHUK. I would love to see a cameo again. Perhaps we can do a little CGI, Avatar-type stuff and get Gary and Sir Gary side by side and have a reenactment of the Judgement of Paris haha.

Great episode. Always nice to see Mott. Would love to see you go blind evry day next year Gary, whether single or double, but that’s a tall order to fulfill.
qotd: Gary I want to see 1 thing above all else. Put a vin jaune on the show Just Once!
    Happy Holidays guys and gals.

Btw going blind isn’t locking yourself into a format or repeating yourself or whatever you wanna call it, in any way. You can still do single blinds on any topic you want unless you are focusing on a specific producer’s wines. All you’re doing by going blind is eradicating any preconceived notions you, or anyone else may have about how good the wine is. Whether it’s knowing the producer or what the price of the wine is, those things can affect how you judge the wine no doubt.

    Gary,

I really enjoyed this episode. You seemed more relaxed and it was cool learning about the Vaniac Cab. I’m a recent watcher and never knew you helped make a wine. It was great to see Mott too. He reminds of the nice version of Ricky Jay from so many David Mamet movies.

My favorite episode of the year was the blind chardonnay tasting. I think there were six wines and I thought it was amazing watching you critque them and be surprised by the best and worst performers. I learned a lot about chardonnay from that episode.

This is my first comment and just subscribed to WLTV today. I’ve learned a lot about how to enjoy wine by watching the show this year. Have a great Christmas.

    Gary,

It was a great year of shows! Glad to hear that you are going old school in 2010. I would like to see more of the 15 minute straight shooter episodes that are direct and add a lot of “Vayniac Value”. I of course enjoy the longer episodes as well but with time constraints the shorter ones are my preference. Also, are you ever willing to try specific wines that Vayniacs suggest so long as you can get ahold of them? That would be cool.

Happy Holidays to you and your family,
    Brad

Gary I found this show surfing on the net a month ago and after watching a couple of episodes, I liked it so much that i started watching them from the beginning! Now i’m close to episode #200 (plus the recent ones), and i’m afraid to finish all the old ones, meaning that i will have to wait for the release of the current WLTV shows and only have one per day…

New ideas for 2010? if you keep the good mood it will obviously be fine whatever it is. But like a lot of people here, i hope there will be many double blind tastings! And as Dom posted, it would be nice if you were really BLIND tasting them: no look at the color! and vary the person that choose the wines for you.

The guests? why not wine library people sometimes? and any people, the person who answers the phone, the person who cleans the store, the webmaster, mott…

    Great show!
