Pedigree’s a bi*ch. Great, unpretentious wines in a valley full of narcissism. We’ll see Helen again and she’ll hopefully have the “Silver Corkscrew” removed.

Although I think it would have been helpful for Helen to have known the prices of the wines, I still thought she did a nice job. I’ve visited the Reynoso Vineyards and have tasted some of their other wines besides the Sauv Blanc (which I really like!) If memory serves me the Sauv Blanc is about $11/bottle. Well worth the price!!!

  • Thank you, Gary and Helen, for the solid review of our Sauvignon Blanc! FYI: the wine retails in the $12 range, but only in a few markets so far. You can always find us at our website: http://www.reynosovineyards.com. We admire your no-nonsense approach to exploring and enjoying our favorite beverage. Love the show, and keep up the great work!

Hmm, interesting show.. She was not prepared to sell her family’s winery at all and that is a bit disappointing.. Know the prices, know what’s going on at your vineyard.. But, glad to hear her wine did well!! All in all decent show, but.. again know your product!!

P.S. Why should she pay for wine when her family owns a winery and she has lots of connections for free wine? I think you are all just jealous that she drinks for free! Just sayin’………..

I really enjoy Buehler Cab and Zin. I missed visiting their winery on my last trip to Napa but hope to make it one of my next stop next time I am out that way. Your descriptions are spot on and you wont find many other good napa wines with a reasonable price point. I would agree that it is a 90 point + wine.

Helen – You seemed really nervous, but thats okay, maybe you weren’t expecting Gary’s high energy but you did a great job. Its always nice to see such a beautiful face when drinking some great wine!

Thanks, G & Helen. Buehler Cab IS my go-to wine when I want something I consider very, very good, yet not afraid to pop because it’s rediculously over-priced and/or scarce. IOW – They keep it real.

QOTD: Did they really need to bring in a major league manager to teach the guy to slide? Seemed like more of a publicity stunt. That, or fire your QB coach if he can’t do it.

The first thing people need to remember is this is somebody’s kid. She is young so no, she is not going to be the most seasoned guest to date and have all the right answers.

Gary, your a stand up guy, good job. Enough said.

Wow, the curse of a family business. Can anyone imagine a real scenario where you would employ this person to sell your wines? She doesn’t even know the price of her family’s wine. What?!

    -Final thoughts?
    -…Uhhh…haha, I don’t know.

Man, sorry to see everyone ripping Helen apart here. I liked the episode. There aren’t many people at her age that can analytically taste wine, and she just needs more experience. I am a youngin’ as well, 24 to be exact, and I can taste a lot of what’s going on in my wines, but that’s because I have had a few thousand wines and am constantly growing my palate. I am curious about her marketing tactics, and exactly what her position in wine marketing is. I have a passion for marketing as well as wine and am always looking at how people are attacking the market. To finish, I would like to say that I definitely don’t mind seeing a girl that cute on WLTV. 😉
