QOTD – ripped the slopes at killington.

  • bfr1028

Have you looked at his store on google maps in street view??? Its like a bus depot 🙂

CCR is possibly one of the most under rated bands ever, and they are not even under rated; they are that good.

  • Its not just a store its Gary Vaynerchuk and the wine factory

  • johnfasc

haha holy crap, i just did.
i NEED to get down there and see it.

  • bfr1028

I work at a small winery in Lodi, CA. I have been there for about a year and a half, graduated from UC Davis about the same time I got the job. Pretty much any job you could think of besides Head winemaker I do. Pump overs, punch downs, racking, re-racking, barreling, fork lift operator, ingoing and outgoing shipping, tasting room employee ect. I am fortunate to wear many hats.

  • huskerjamie

Hey, whatever happened to the birds? I was reviewing some old eps today to bone up on my Italian wine knowledge and they were going wild back then.

QOTD: Challenged a gaggle of hipsters at a trivia contest at the Bourbon Theater.

  • bfr1028

Im Planning a trip myself … We should have a Nation Exploration Day at the Library 🙂

Yeah I like CCR as well. Crazy to think that with all their good songs, they never had a #1 hit.

  • bfr1028

Global Warming did Em in!! LOL

I am new to the whole twitter thing. Do I just log on and then say @Derek7877 and it will send it to you?

    Gary,

Great show. I love the faces you make when you are giving the wine a whirl. I try to guess whether you are going to say you like the wine or not…cracks me up.

QOTD: Made some spaghetti sauce this weekend that brought the thunder!!

  • Anonymous

Yeah I agree. I would much rather give someone a gift that they never expected to get, that they absolutely loved, rather than receiving anything at all.

  • amgryger

Most of my white burgundy consumption are wines from the lesser-known villages made by small producers. I find a lot of value with them.

QOTD: My clients were very happy with the work (architecture) that I presented at my meeting today.

  • allanj

I've said it once, and i'll say it again: This comment section is R-O-C-K-I-N' !

  • DFbwp

QOTD: I submitted an article to a national magazine that rocked MY socks off. The editor did not reply yea or nay for 15 months, then wrote yesterday to say they might publish it. Not to say that everything I write brings thunder, but I was seriously wowed after dusting the thing off and rereading it 15 months later.

  • Going to have to find me some St Veran… and it looks like that Rober Denogent is available in QC, a miracle!

QOTD: Started running again last fall, brought total thunder to my (previously) sedentary lifesytle!

  • scottEJ

Thanks, G. Always to be exposed to a region I've never had and/or thought much about.

QOTD: Apparently, I gave a presentation at work that brought it. They all kinda blend in now, but, enough people seem to think I make a pretty good point when speaking in public.

  • DFbwp

KMurph for employee of the month.

Gary Vaynerchuk for President in 2012

  • DFbwp

I'll second that. Diseno Malbec with shrimp quesadillas! Make sure to put a spear of green onion in the middle of the tortilla and munch and crunch. Yeah.

  • larbear

QOTD – I completed my research for a PhD at age 5x.

I'm not that into whites but your recommendation of Heimbourge and Nun Vinya dels Taus have got me thinking that the right whites might enter my rotation. How does the Robert Denogent Saint Veran Les Pommards Vieilles Vign compare to these two great wines.

  • DFbwp

Apologize for the rain… nice turn of phrase there.

  • DFbwp

Capri Sun also has some childhood washed in there, which makes it more delicious than it would be otherwise.

  • Being new to the wine world, I find myself focusing on importers for guidance more than anything (Kermit Lynch, Neal Rosenthal, Louis/Dressner, Lesec). So my ears perked up big when I heard his name. Going to find a bottle for sure.

QOTD: Previous to last week, the most I cooked was simple pastas and maybe a steak once in a while. I stunned my girlfriend the other night by making a thunderific herb stuffed salmon!

  • allanj

    Word!
    Food and beverage president.

  • slimdogny

Yoda!! Love that…the wine must be no joke when Yoda gets injected in.

QOTD: Playing and singing and laughing with my 20 month old. Other than that, serious eats, serious skiing and SERIOUS time with good friends and family.

  • allanj

Sounds great! That's all that matters…. Don't know about the skiing though? I usually end up in a bush somewhere ; )

  • if only…

  • JasonGonzales

QOTD: My audition for USC's Theatre program.

  • QOTD: The last thing that I did that brought thunder was sharing WLTV with friends who now are starting to appreciate wine the way that I do. Expanding palettes and introducing new wines and not just settling for whatever we come across at the giganta-market. Thanks Gary V.

  • boomy13

    Nice Episode Gary!

The last thing I did that brought thunder was telling my Brother just how much I appreciate him. Soft I know.

  • Love this episode! Nice to take a trip around the office and see a little of what makes it all work.

  • allanj

    Here's looking at you kid

  • fljohn

A strong effort. I loves me some Burgundy. Red and White. Always need the good price points so great ones to try in the upper mid range for me.
Last thing I did that brought the Thunder…….

Had Twin girls at age 40.

  • ExViTermini

Who didn't love the white erasers. They didn't erase very well but they did bring the thunder on the smell side.

  • JasonGonzales

Weird. My audition was from Casablanca…

    Not really 😉

  • Gabe4455

Great episode Gary, you were definitely feeling the love…great seeing some of the office as well!

I ate raw shark, and fermented fish in Busan, South Korea last weekend. That was an interesting experience, but it was definitely bringing some thunder.

  • ha, it took me a little while, but I remember those erasers you were talking about. And their scent, for that matter.

QOTD: I sent an office-wide e-mail about a fundraiser and somehow induced one of the partners at my firm to donate a whole chunk of change to the extremely worthy cause. Wheeee…

Probly about 3 degrees in Jersy. Maybe they’ll be there in the spring?
