Loved the promo at the top…keeping it short makes it happen!
I prefer to collect the empty bottles of great wines..can't imagine not drinking it.
Brian is a really great guest….thanks!

  • pawncop

What a great episode, and a tremendous guest. As others have stated, I cannot wait for part II.

Really appreciate Brian's attitude and approach.

  • ray

have been drinking LWC wines for 4 years
    love his website
    great juice

  • smiledoc

2 thumbs way up! A passionate wine maker, not, not, not, not a sales guy, thank you!

  • Maria

All my sympathy for this guy. What a symbiosis, you two!

  • lintingting

never posted before… but i gotta give it to this guest!!!

  • missatiejacket

great first part, great guest, I can't wait for part 2

  • orangebottle

Watched this episode a second time. and yes Brian Loring is one of my top 5 favorite guest.
    so honest with great knowledge.
    I like these labels too.

  • winecrazy

Love your wine Brother… but hey, you knew that….lol I mean mean how many cases have I gone through ober tha past 7 years….lol I remember the change from the cork to the screw caps. I think that's when I saw you up at Dan's dinner. WOW…did we get blasted that night or what!!!!!

I couldn’t find a list of places they are able to ship to. I did drop a bottle in the cart and proceed to the check out, they seemed fine with it. I’ll have to put a half a case together and actually finalize it… oh drat an excuse to try some new wine.

  • tooch

Great episode. Haven't had any of Brian's wines yet, but after hearing the review of the first bottle, may have to go out and find some.

  • tederf

Great episode. I have met and tasted with Brian several times. Fantastic experience and a really nice guy. Very happy that PA now has some of his wines. If you are ever in Lompoc – arrange a tour and tasting – you won't be disappointed. And thanks for mentioning Wine Berserkers!!

  • slave2thevine

Brian's comment about sitting on wines spurred me to pull out a '99 Corton Pougets and throw it in the decanter tonight…I'm glad to say I'm presently enjoying it in all it's glory.

  • tcihil

I'm annoyed by multipart episodes, but this was the best show in at least a year, maybe ever. I can't wait for the conclusion. Here's an idea…Brian comes back every year with each new vinatage to keep educating us and discuss how the wine business and production evolves. Love it. Great show!

  • castello

NICE! What should I open? hummmm

  • Mary C

Great Great Guest! Can't wait for part two. Just loved watching the both of you talk about the wine. Brian has such an honesty to him, very sincere. I want to run right out and get a bottle of the Gary.

  • adrums

Great episode. Big fan of Brian, as well as his pinot.
Wines that need lots of time are a blessing as well as a curse. When they're ready, it's so worth it, but the wait is certainly an added investment.
    Looking forward to part 2.

  • castello

Don't wait! Let's pop and pour some DGJ(Damn Good Juice)!

  • castello

Yes, we don't like tooooo much hype!

  • robrx

Great guy, you can see the apssion. It got me to sign up on his mailing list. You should have him talk aboyt the 3-pack he ahs offered on there for like $57. Nice offer!

    QOTD- Must be Elvis

  • ChrusKelly

Have been hearing many good things about these Loring pinots. Cant wait to try. But wait, wait, wait. Mott your still recording to tape!? I think its time to invest in some new gear.

    Cant wait for part 2.

  • cpal

This guy is what all winemakers should aspire to be – passionate and positive. Makes the guy on the previous episode an embarrasment…..

  • CPal

This guy is what winemakers should apire to be – passionate, strong knowledge base and positive.

Makes the guy from the prior episode look like a clown.

  • castello

I don't want no stinking PINOT, but I may have to try his. I've had some other of Gary's vineyard from other wineries and they a pretty good for PINOT.
I guess I missed the QOTD but I guess I'll throw out Roberto Clemente.

  • RANDINTHECITY

HAHA! Castello, I drink DGJ whenever possible!! As I said, ive been drinking wine that I was previously “collecting”.. Wasnt enuff time tonite, and Ive been ill…BUT..tomorrow – I will decant & wait for part 2!! 🙂

  • notTheFalseD

Great “ending”! And a great guest. Can't wait to see part 2.

You even managed to fit a QOTD in there. The most drastic (I think) case of fame/recognition-after-death is Johann Sebastian Bach. Took the music world a good 80-100 years to really come around to him. What's more, his contemporaries absolutely trashed him, calling his music all kinds of bad – words like “muddy” and “turgid” were not uncommon descriptors. That's changed somewhat – today, a “greatest composer” debate is almost always a “greatest composer besides Bach” debate.

But I'm sorry, weren't we talking about Justin Bieber? No, wait it was Justin Timberlake. Noooo, it was Justin Aguilera. Right.

  • dsallen

Agree! I was afraid when I saw the title. Can't wait for part 2. This guy could be my favorite guest… in a while, anyway.

  • Altboy97

Great start, love the comment about drinking half the glass then pouring the rest on his head. You got to respect that, and that he's willing to talk about the whole deal. Outstanding.

  • Great so far, definitely need to try some Loring!

  • Dominic C.

I haven't even finished watching this and I must say that I really like this guy! He's my type of guy not because he has the same mentality and back ground, but because he's all about transparency! I'm so gonna buy his wine!

  • Cubatobaco (Ray)

After the Pen's game, I'll hit “Play”. Just from reading the comments, I might need to give this wine a try.

  • Brian: love your approach to what you do. You want to keep making wine when you're 80? Now that's passion. Will need to pick up some recent Loring for sure.

QOTDGV: Didn't Otis Redding's “Sittin' on The Dock of The Bay” get released/popular after his death? MJ's sales shot up again too.

  • SamKw

Good to see someone who actually MAKES wine for a change. Have heard about Brian Loring before, but wow, what a man! I love his winemaking philosophy, his openness, and his passion for wine. I've watched many, many WLTV episodes, and he is so far one of the only two winemaker guests who make me want to try their wines by just talking about them (the other being Heidi Barrett). Props to Brian, and GV for having him on.

Really looking forward to Part 2!

  • Benny Boy

    Lurker Alert…

I have been watching for about a year, but this is my first post (possibly my last). Gary, I know you are an expert, no doubt about that, but this guy is a the Ruth-Chris-Steakhouse of the wine world…wants the same expensive garbage each and every time. BORING. I thought you were against this type of thing, but over the last, you have been all-up-in-the-same-ol'-thang recently (Foxen, come on?), your cred is in doubt.

    Keep it real,

  • John

Great show! Mad props to Brian & Gary V! I love your recounting of the Web 1.0 days when the wineworld seemed so much smaller & tight-knit. Sites like Strat's Place & alt.food.wine formed the basis of my knowledge. As far as an artist better known after death I'd have to say the late Jimi Hendrix. Granted he had a #1 hit album with Electric Ladyland, but Hendrix didn't become the Supreme guitar “legend” until years later. And it is a reflection of our pathetic obsession with popculture that Justin Bieber can infiltrate even the most adult discussions LOL

  • noahnoah

What's goign on here at WLTV ?
Looks as though these (2) episodes were taped on the same day ?
Same uniform (shirt), message (Who ? 11/18/10),,,, no more please.

Need some writers, creative director, etc.
I could recommend a few talented people if you like.

I may have to watch these clips late at night, to help falling asleep, without the risk of drugs.

    Who love you babe ?

  • noahnoah

    Forgot to suggest:

How about a show about great wines (well rounded, balanced) for a remarkable low price ?
That would kinda fit with today's economic meltdown.
It seems that with the world economy melting, there are many wines who's prices have come down drastically.
Question of the day: Can you recommend a few ?

  • TooYoungToDrink

Great show so far, love this guest. He seems to be actually sincere about keeping the customer happy. Can't wait for the rest!

  • mattgmann

late to bat here, and about halfway into the episode. So far so good. I think I like this guy. A nice departure from Glengary Glen Ross yesterday. ABC!

  • pbarr

This guy is AWESOME!!! Brian, I love your passion for what you do. You're living life like everyone should!!! I've got to go out and try your wines.

  • mattgmann

laughing at his little crack on young spanish wines. Ha!

  • SamKw

Yo, it just means GV is wearing the same shirt several days in a row.
Shame on you, Gary! Tut tut.

Dear Liz: I know he comes home late so you can't always keep an eye on him, but can you make sure Gary changes his shirt more often? Apparently, people are starting to notice.

  • mattgmann

I want to try these wines just because I like this guy. I probably still won't drop $40 though. Maybe in part 2 he'll offer us a badass discount.

  • mattgmann

I hope this isn't setting up for a fall, but this episode is EPIC. Can't wait for part deux.

  • noahnoah

The shirt comment was meant only to capture attention,,,,I guess it did.
The other comment about quality wines at bargain prices was for real…..
Need to be a bit more creative, these shows are now on the edge of b _ _ _ _ _ m.
    🙂 cheers

  • GFish

GV – Brian Loring is a good guest. I am looking forward to part 2. I'll say some wines are all the better for again, but there has to be room for wines ready right at release. I wonder how different (if at all) he would be if he were required to give a special deal to your viewers. Discounts are great but don't dooooo it V-chuck!

    GFish
PS – Peace and Jets! Draft some good ones for us.

  • SamKw

Whoa, I didn't think you'd take it so seriously. I humbly apologize for my lame attempt at humor (and I feel sorry for myself for having to explain myself so. Gee, Sam, what were you thinking?).

That said, Gary has covered plenty of affordable wines as well as more pricey ones in the last few weeks. And I prefer my shows unscripted, although that's admittedly a matter of taste.

    G'nite.

  • I love the passion in his voice. Brian not only cares about his wines but he cares about his customers. That is something a few of the east coast wineries could learn.

    Looking forward to tomorrow.

  • SamKw

Perhaps there is a sampler pack you'd be interested in *hint hint*
I was almost afraid to divulge this information for the fear that they'd run out, but heck, we love to share, right?

  • dsallen

There are plenty of websites that will sell you fine wine at a good deal (you can start at cinderellawine). That's NOT what Gary's show is about. And if it's not your cup of tea, don't drink it.
