Another classic episode.

GV went into his shell a bit when Kermit said he thought some critics go way over the top with their descriptions such as ‘tastes like lime, but specifically the lime rind, not the rest of the lime’. As we know that’s exactly the way GV tastes! But great to get a different and equally valid take on the whole tasting process. I like them both

Nice episode. No cliffhanger, but still anticipating a big finish. Waiting to see the GV kermit Lynch interview limited edition box set bundled up on Cindywine.

  • Allan

I don't care how many episode you bring G….

You should have Aubert from DRC on….. and make that on a 10 parter!

  • drt999

Certainly wirth listening to over many episodes!

  • Can't wait to see part 3.

As a Dane I have never hear of Kermit Lynch, but I really find his views on ballance vs dissecting wine into aromas and flavors interesting. It's quite common when you drink wine, but maybe it should be taken more into consideration when you taste wine.

u weren't kidding when u said BIG SHOW … WTG!

Great guest, love his Cotes du Rhone. http://www.winelx.com

If Kermit and Sasha were put on together, would the universe implode?

Great shows…I'm dying for part 3.

  • angelatcarslon

Good Luck with your Level 1. Here's to the Bay Area Wine Geeks!
BTW, if you're available on the 5th, the Alameda Wine Bar is doing Spanish Wines and Paella: 5:30-7:30 pm. Also, Austria Uncorked is this Monday night 6:00-9:00 pm at the Officer's Club at Fort Mason in the City. I'll definitely be there. All the big names in Austrian wine are scheduled to attend. Yeah!

Looking forward to #3 and shopping at the store.

  • shannaguzman

Thank you so much for the heads up on those events. I will definitely check out the event this Monday. That will be a phenomenal event for tasting that region. Hope to see you there:)

    Part 2 was great.
I see this can be a multi part show.
    Keep up the good work.

Teams that lose…I know that all too well being a cubs fan. Luckily the Blackhawks have been pulling through in the past couple years.

Over-oaked wines are my worst fear when buying wine. It's a good thing some labels boast about how long they have aged their wine in oak…then I know not to try them.

  • castello

Agree totally. I thought I just had a bad nose. Balance and mouthfeel I think are way more important than how many fruits and vegies you can smell.

This is the first time I've watched 2 whole episode sin a row in a long time. I am impressed with Mr. Lynch's lack of pretense wrt tasting a wine -he doesn't over analyze. Can't wait for tomorrow.

  • castello

Yes angelatcarslon and Shanna, that sounds awesome. I'm in the southbay and may be able to make one of those.

  • castello

I think I'd better take mass transit but how will I get all the wine home?

I'm SO hoping that this is the first 8 episode episode. I find this sort of wine talk fest totally absorbing. I think that this is an extraordinary job because you engaged Kermit who I suspect is more prone to yes/no answers unless drawn out by the interviewer.

Gary, can we have him on the episode 1000?

  • A dumb Rhein king

Great interview. So much great information. This is totally why I watch WLTV.

SQOTD: I prefer to hear about a wine broken down analytically so that I can get a general sense of what the wine could be. But I don't agree that it should be broken down too far.
