I expected the worst when i found out that the guest was a commenter on the show…but it turned out that there was a great chemistry between him and GV so it worked pretty well.

  • Wow. Harsh. I thought he did a good job. Why the hat'n?

  • How about Allegrini Palazzo della Torre. It's made in part like like an Amorone but less $$. Great wine!

  • Hey Glen (yeah OK you too Gary)

Great show guys. Love to see a man who knows what he enjoys drinking.

QOTD: A few Aussies ones that still have a bit of style
    – Torbreck
    – Peter Leahman
    – St Hallet

    Andrew

Q: Why didn't I know you were THE Castello until tonight?
    A: Obviously, I'm a little slow, and can't add 2 and 2…

  • Randall

NOT winecrazy… some half-wit teenaged kid posting assinine comments…

  • Randall

Thanks for laying it out, Craig. I couldn't have said it any better…

  • Randall

  • winecrazy

Then I'm just gonna have to get some I guess….. πŸ™‚ I know I don;t like what Gary likes but I don't dislike a lot of his choices. It's just that I like new world fruit forward big nose in your face juicy chewy zins, syrahs, pinots and petites and Garys more of the refined French merlot based type of guy.

I love that character he plays….Sir Gary Vaynerchuk.

    Bring back Sir Gary!!!!!!!!!!

  • winecrazy

    What's his number…lol

  • winecrazy

Thanks so much Brother!!!!! That and all these comments like that mean a lot to me. I don't know what I did…..but it seems to be going over good….LOL

It's easy to be yourself with gary because he's such a great guy and a good person. He really is a great host. He should be working on his one talk show instead of going on them.

He's my Homey and you have to respect someone who has the passion for what he does and does it without predjudice and is always happy and is a straight shooter. He shoots from the hip and he's a good guy inside. I had a blast on the show and only hope that one day after reading all these great comments he will ask me back on and we can taste some big Zins or something that has a big profile and has power like those wines. It really was fun. I didin't think I would have been such a good guest because I really don't have a business and I'm certainly no celeb or high profile guy.

Gues it just pays to be yourself……lol … and I'm just me. πŸ™‚

  • winecrazy

    Thanks Eliot,

I like a lot of Aussie wines. I was recently in Napa and I had a Miner riesling…..WOW! Try that if you can. What year carnival?? I have a couple 07's I think. I think it was in the top 10 of WS and it went fast. So I'm just hoarding mine. if I bought a case I would have had it already….lol

  • winecrazy

    Thanks…I'll look for those

  • winecrazy

Will do…. I'm gonna have to get a bigger Boat….LOL

OOOOOH Waynooooo!!!!! It's gonna be fun seeing what you have to say fure sure.

Most of all the close to 500 comments have been nothing less than amazing. I can't wait to hear yours!!!!!! And I got 15 Lurkers to come out of the Lurken closet…I think thats a record?

WHOOOOOOWAAAAAH!!!!! Bout time you got around to seening it. We've been waiting for you.

  • This show was a great lesson for a beginner like myself about the subject of price point and just focusing on tasting the wines without giving too much focus on the brand.

Question of the week, Mr. DiGirolamo I had a very fruity and juicy wine last week: 2008 Petite Sirah, Crane Lake
Keep in mind that I have almost zero experience with wines and this was one of my first five wines tasted, ever.
I enjoyed the show and admired your very cool and relaxed demeanor.

  • Randall

πŸ˜€ !! Are you not the Castello of the castle(llo) off 29 in Callistello?

  • Good thought, but what about us foreigners then? It's hard to get to the Jersey shore/store πŸ˜‰ Unless GV is that generous…

  • Hear, hear ! And bring on the Rhone syrahs that Sir Gary so enjoys!

Hey winecrazy, one last recommendation; Chateauneuf Du Pape; 2007 Domaine de la Charbonnière, Mourre des Perdrix. That is Wine, seek it out. : )

    Hi Crazy,
I liked the show. I can?t help thinking there?s more to your story then you told. In the comments for episode 867 you said you retired in 1995 and it?s been a dream vacation that you?re still on. In episode 868 comments you say you don?t want to open ?2005 Carnival of Love? soon, ?I'm figuring when I'm 50 I'll do one?. You seek any new wine that might appeal to you without expressing economic considerations. It sounds like you?re living a dream. It would have been nice to hear about it on the show. Money, free time and a love of wine, sounds like that could be a deadly combination but no, you seem like you?re in control and consider your health. You seem happy. You enjoy life. You must have an interesting philosophy of life.
Take care while you?re having fun.

You might be tied with the breast cancer awareness ep, that one brought out a lot of lurkers and heart wrenching stories.

  • winecrazy

I'm 48… I retierd in 95… my birthday is in September as you can see by Episode 743 and Garys belated shout out.

My philosophy…..Live for today because you never know when you're gonna go. And give to your local animal shelter because animals can't help themselves.
