I expected the worst when i found out that the guest was a commenter on the show…but it turned out that there was a great chemistry between him and GV so it worked pretty well.

Love the long time commentor episodes but no one calls gary out on their own opinions. Someone must disagree. I'd love to do a 4 brown bag blind with my favorites and see how GV rates them. We'll see if price does not matter.

Big and Bold…Cakebread Furth..only to the list I think.

Great show. Loved the laid back vibe
QOTD: Anaparenna, amon-ra… etc. any of those really big glaetzer shiraz wines. They are awesome. Like having a meal and drinking a glass of wine.

  • Daniel Schlossberg

    Big Props to WAYNE!!!

  • Nice to meet you Glen. Great show too. Its nice to see real people with real descriptions that can reach the masses.

QOTD: I love Mt.Veerder Winery. Thier Cab and also the Reserve (Meritage blend)

  • Anyone else having trouble loading the site here? It is super slow for me with loading everything including the comments section.

Awesome having a true Vayniac on the show. THANKS Gary for that taking a shot at the “poser” from yesterdays episode. That guy was a heartbreak to everyone in here that feel like we are truly a part of this community. Still proud of his hustle but I don't understand his desire to be on a show that he doesn't even follow.

QOTD: I don't have any links for you on this. I don't really go for that style. Thanks though for being on the show, nice to meet you.

  • QOTD: without question, it would be the 2007 Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon http://www.cellartracker.com/wine.asp?iWine=678191

  • Corkshack

    Great show!

I would say one of the biggest, fruitiest, in your face wines I've had in a while was an '07 Caymus. Pricey, but fits your description.

  • winecrazy

    Thanks Corkshack!!!!!

  • winecrazy

    Thanks for the link

  • winecrazy

Thanks so much Jimmy!!! And I agree… when you don't folow something, why be a guest when there are many true Vayniacs out there wanting to be on. And you know I'm one Crazy Vayniac!!!…lol

And yes, there was some trouble with comments loading.

  • winecrazy

    Thak you Michael!!!!!!!!

  • winecrazy

    Yeah Buddy!!!

  • winecrazy

I'll look into that Looper…glad you liked it. It's easy to be laid back with Gary. We took a pic on the laid back couch. It came out great. You can see it at winecrazy.com

  • winecrazy

    Thanks Burro!!!

  • winecrazy

Its hard to disagree when your both tasting the same thing. But I would drink that one bottle by its self and he would only be a 2 glass tops kinda guy…remember??

So I think at least I felt that wine was more for my palate and I told him that. Hey.. I call it like it is…but those wines were all that and more!!! I'm up for a blind tasting Char!!!

  • winecrazy

    Thanks Big Mob!!!!!!

  • Skippy6052

I really enjoyed the show nice guest. A tv show to catch thats interesting now that LOST is gone and canceling Flash Foward after the season finale is Pawn Stars. Anyways to the drinking! I was syked to see the Tvine wine on the table because I love the 2004 Zinfandel from them witch meets your big chewy fruit driven wine. I also like the Earthquake zin as well both benifit from decant or just leave open for a while. If you haven't had any wines from Chappellet yet you will like their style as well and they get great ratings.

  • I know some would debate it but at the end of the show winecrazy was already one of the best guests ever in my book. I dare say, however, that nobody would debate winecrazy's post-show presence on the boards is second to none!! You have set quite the bar for future guests man!

    I feel left out…. I need a name. I'm not a lurker, but I'm also not a regular poster…and RARELY do I miss a show. “part~time Lurker”? “Some~time poster”? Surely I'm not the only one……somebody give us a name.
Great Ep. always good when a couple of real dudes get together.

  • Great show, much fun, nice wine parsing, and glad you guys got Mott in on the action.
Excellent to hear that the big WineCrazy is a no TV dude…no so crazy after all… Excellent success on the lurker outing campaign.

QOTD: Tasted a set of Toro 2007s back in the spring, that were humongous, from Teso la Monja:
    Almirez –

Alabaster – no WLTV 🙁 … may be just as well…just calculating the bottle cost given the wholesale price of the 4 pack plus markup made my credit card melt.

  • saraleib

Great episode! ALmost as good as ep #494 when I was on! 🙂 Just kidding. I like big, bold wine, too, but not exclusively. Are you into fruity whites? I love the Marlborough sauv blancs for their extreme fruitiness without the residual sugar.

  • HOMMER
