  • Good Second part. I agree that they will have a tough time getting out of the “novelty-gimmicky” phase, if the wines are really good, then it's all good and hopefully a steady uphill.

QOTD: 7. Of course I cheated!

    Great show.

Great two-parter GV. Great guests and a great promo for a type of wine (novelty) I would generally never purchase. Goes to show you need to try it before you judge it.

  • Joe L

GV loved the family atmosphere with the food. It was like being in someones home with great guests and talking wine and movies.

  • I lumped Coppola into the novelty category until earlier this year. One of the most surprising experiences I had this year was tasting Coppola's 2005 Rubicon Rubicon wine. I've had the 05 Rubicon Cask in the past, thought it was good but not mind blowing, tried the 06 Rubicon Cask and thought it was awful. I wasn't expecting too much from the 05 Rubicon Rubicon, and when I tried it, it blew me away. Easily one of the best youngish Cabernets from the US I've had in the last year. If I had to pick my top 5 youngish (05 or later) california Cabs I had in the last year, the Rubicon would be in there (along with 2007 Quilceda Creek, 2007 Scarecrow, 2006 Schrader T6, 2006 Bond Pluribus); it'd outrank the 06 Screaming Eagle.

I really guess ya shouldn't knock it till you tried it. Enjoyed the shows.

I couldn't watch this episode. Sorry. If you're on TV, and are hoping to be viewed, people should have more respect for the audience and not be filling their faces. That's my comment.

    Gary,

I rarely post. You are a class act and your guests on the Soprano's show are class acts also. I am really not a fan of the Sopranos although certainly I am aware of it. All four of your guests were charming. I live close to Chicago and am glad I may be able to sample the brand in Illinois. Keep on Keepin' on!

    Bearsfan.

You must get control of the quoty fingers. Just say it like you mean it. On another note, I can't believe it, but I am eager to try Sopranos wine someday. Nice job.

Makes me want to go down the street for some meatballs! I don't think I could keep up with all of the eating and drinking that went on at Patsy's though.
So I got a bottle of Sopranos last year as a gift………put it in the cellar figuring it was a gimmick wine…I'll have to give it a try now. Thanks for the education!

  • NorCalKing

    Gary
These last two shows were very enjoyable. It's another example of why winelibrary TV is important to the wine world.

    Good Times.
