    You gotta love, Sasha!!

QOTD: I have to completely agree with Sasha.

Every episode I view with your dad is so very special. The love that you have for each other is something wonderful to behold. The interaction is hilarious.

Please bring him to episodes whenever possible.

QOTD – He accurately points out we fail our own countrymen and women when we will go to the ends of the earth to help other countries.

    Sasha 2012 – a reasonable alternative.

I really admire him when he states with such conviction – “My country!”. I am proud to count him as one of my countrymen.

  • Sasha!!! There always seems to be food when the big man joins in.

It would be interesting to see if wine could overtake coffee as the second most traded commodity on the market.

Love the interaction with father and son in the live show, I would love to see family dinners.

@kmurph is a Patriots fan, come on girl?

My friend rented a house on LBI at the last minute and had a party so since I haven’t seen him in 10 years and I stayed down the shore and hung out with them Saturday. Bad timing. I was planning on going and I would have loved to been there.

  • SteveF

Always great to see your Dad on the show!!
    QOTD: Totally agree with Pop!!

Gary, would have been nice to get a heads up email, on the one week delay, on shipping to the west coast.

  • TheGreatWazu

Was a great episode. We love your dad. Thanks for the freebies and your hospitality.

QOTD: Obama has never run anything, let alone delt with a national crisis and now we are all gonna suffer because of it. The real question is, “Who would vote for this man now that they know that he cares about his agenda more than us?”

  • jeffsjeff

GV–I only asked for more Sasha a week ago…thanks for the fast delivery!

QOTD: Anybody who doesn't agree with Sasha needs to have their brain scanned.

  • Hill11025

If I were a host; Sasha would be my first choice as guest. If I were a son; Sasha would be my first choice as Dad. Love seeing Gary and Sasha. And as I Gulf Coast resident; thank you Sasha for your concerns and comments.

  • plcb

Thank you for putting food on the table for Sasha.

  • rats…we are getting heavy weather tonight, and there is no way the satellite is going to download this before I crash. I'm glad to see that Sasha has both food and an Amarone.
I'll look forward to watching this at the office tomorrow.

  • QOTD: can't wait to hear exactly what Sasha asked, but based on the comments, he's stirring the pot as usual…
Does anyone reading this understand how beholden the vast majority of politicians are to the oil industry? Does anyone realize how many of us are beholden to them as well? What would have happened if an oil man were in charge of the situation? A succesful oil man that is…

  • Strider in South Dakota

    Nice show GV
QOTD Sasha you are so right about the Gulf and our response.

  • RANDINTHECITY

    GARY!!!!
    Sasha!!

Very funny…This episode is a trip! Misha will love it when she's older!!
And oh! Ive gotten drunk on anisette..yikes!!

QOTD: Always the reason to point fingers, to put blame on someone… And Im thinking our govt did that so as not accept any blame themselves. I think its ridiculous that the govt did not keep a closer watch, apply checks and balances to a company like BP that has the potential to cause such devastation! No back-up plan? No emergency plan? Im sure even Wine Library has a plan on what to do if there is a fire in the building! And Im sure that there is someone or some entity that checks that these systems are in working condition. Amazing that BP had NONE of this! just sayn…. LOL

An all-time awesome episode… LOVE IT!!!!
Thank you Gary. Thank you Sasha.
    xoxo

    SASHA V!!!!!!!!!!
Do we have a release date for “whats going on behind closed doors” ?

  • Emins

Wow! Great show, hilarious, love Sasha!

QOTD: I agree with Sasha and am really angry at BP (and the failure of the Minerals Management Service) for the lack of precaution. Just thinking of the damage done to the wildlife in the area sickens me. I also agree that our government (and us) should do everything possible to help clean it up. That said, slowness to clean up – however irritating – is not really what makes me mad; the damage is done, and the spilt oil in the ocean cannot be prevented from causing damage. We will clean it up.

Where the anger should be directed towards is toward BP, related oil companies, and the MMS. The tragedy is their failure to stop the leak quickly (and the failure to have a plan beforehand). The government can throw money at the effort to stop the leak, but realistically, it is BP that has the “skill/knowledge” to stop it. The government can provide tankers and other capital to offload siphoned oil (and should and are lending a hand here), but cannot be blamed for a failure to stop the leak.

In essence, I agree. Everyone should do their part in fixing this.

  • Gary, I am about to take advantage of your celebrity. I always try my best to say something interesting in the comment section but today I'm just going to speak from the heart. I know you have way too many things to read each day to focus on just one comment from a dirty Pat's fan but this show choked me up a bit. You see, like alot of other members of Vaynernation I lost my Dad four years ago. A huge fan of wine, it is because of him that I have what I have today. Seeing you with your Dad makes me think of all the great times I had with my father. Don't get me wrong, I worked with my Dad for many years and sometimes he drove me nuts but all in all it was a wonderful learning experience.

I wish only the best for you and your family. May you live every moment to it's fullest together.

I wish my Dad could have met your Dad. Between old stories and politics they would have drank and ate Wine Library out of house and home. Thanks for the memories and cherish the time you have with your parents. For my Dad, I hope you don't mind Gary; Roland J. Martelly August 21, 1922 – April 24, 2006. Now Dad, all of Vaynernation knows how great you were. Thanks Gary and Sasha.

  • ONUMello

Loved being able to see the back and forth live- I think this is Sasha's best show yet!
QOTD: No, I agree, the gov't/BP aren't doing really enough- I was just in New Orleans in January and I can't imagine the city without their oysters.

  • Sasha is “Da Man.”

  • howlr5

We are all concerned with the oil spill, but unfortunately the people in power are disillusioned with greed. Of course the spill could be shut off, if it was in the upper echelons best interests. Sasha and Bill Clinton need to go on a speaking tour together and put things right in the USA.

  • I have to say, as a hard core republican I would love to get on the Obama Bashing Bandwagon. But as time goes by it's deeper than that for me. I'm getting to the point where I don't care if there is a D or a R next to your name. They are all to blame. The american working man and woman is getting the shaft from a bunch of political and media hacks who care more about their $150 haircuts and less and less about the people who PAY THEM!

  • Yeah KMurph!

  • Really now. Other than Monty Python, Benny Hill and fish and chips what good has ever come from being British?

  • tkoby11

Gary! I was very excited to see the Cantemerle in the bins and on the shelf Saturday when we were at WL. I was in the same aisle as your pops was grabbing this bottle for the show…I asked if that was what he was bringing to the byob later and he said it was for the show! So cool! I said I loved the Chateau and liked the '07, the '06 had to be better based on the vintage and good to know it is based on this episode and my many tastes of it later at the BYOB. Thanks for tasting this gem!

This is a case buy for sure. I had the 2007 last month in Bordeaux, and was one of the best I had all day at a large tasting of all of the Grand Crus Classe, minus the biggest of the name Chateau pouring all of the 2007 wines (UDGC tasting). For wines under $50 it was the best wine I had all day, meaning it smoked a lot of wines more expensive than itself as its probably $25 too for the 07 when released. I picked one up Saturday to sit on, and drank quite a bit of it on Saturday at the BYOB. I bought the 09 futures at $30 bones and will be picking up more of this 2006 from WL!

QOTD: BP & RIG to blame, blow out tests failed in the weeks before the accident. Complete and gross negligence on their end. What can the govt do but make them pay every penny in damages. Govt is a little hand cuffed in that they are not the experts, but they need to prob these people to do more to stop the leak , and then once that happens to do even more to clean up the gulf.

I actually have tears in my eyes reading your comment about your Father, seeing Gary and Sasha together and thinking of my Father, Chester J. Chojnacki 1929-1990, and how much I loved him.

My Father had a wine cellar which I'm sure influenced my interest in wine.

As they say, thank you for the memories.

  • A dumb Rhein king

lol. You guys couldn't have brought those fun little alcohol chocolates from Belarus, you had to bring the lines. I see how it is 😉

QOTD: Agree 100%. We should have stopped it and cleaned it up right away. This could have been treated with more urgency. We really need to do better about getting on top of the disasters (environmental or man made).

  • Always a classic show when Sasha is on…

QOTD: Agree with Sasha, although fighting world wide over WATER is what will bring the end of the world… just sayin'…

  • Cubatobaco (Ray)

Great episode! Probably one of my favorite so far. Gary, your dad was hilarious and as REAL as it gets! I'm sad that I had to miss this.

I'm with your dad on the Lebron curse….he will not win in Miami…lol.

QOTD: I wholeheartedly agree with Sasha! We have been half ass on trying to fix this problem and I feel for the families in that area as well as the wildlife. On the other hand, we should not stop drilling. We need to be in ANWAR and further off shore where there is enough to stop our dependency on foreign oil.

  • Phil G

Really enjoyed seeing the show in person this past weekend, and I think the crowd helped elevate Sasha to his A-game. Great stuff.

qotd – certainly a mess and many involved parties have disappointed us all

  • Don Simpson

Awesome show! Sasha is the man and its so much fun to watch Gary and his Dad interact. Wish I could have made it up to Wine Library for the party on Saturday… Hopefully it will happen again!!!

QOTD: It's very sad. No matter how you slice it.

  • castello

Oil men are in charge of the situation. Not good.

  • Carlitosobando

you guys should visit http://www.onedollarstocks.net I saw Gary's speech at American University months back

  • TheGreatWazu

I disagree. The blame goes squarely on his shoulders. Whenever you put “all” or “every” or “any” or “never or “always” infront of a statement, it will be an incorrect statement. “All” are not to blame as you suggest. The president and the congress members who voted for his policies are to blame. In addition, he surrounded himself with socalists, communists and eleged “green” people instead of people who could correctly advise him on how to run a gigantic business called America. People with D's and R's next to their name differ immensely. Don't marginalize thier differences with a simple letter. Almost anything Obama has tried to fix has been with money that doesn't exist and by borrowing the non existent money from other countries, even our enemies. He still hasn't even admitted making a mistake. He still blames it all on Bush. Meanwhile he is outspending Bush 10 to 1 Wake up. I'd rather pay for the 150 dollar haircuts than have me, my children and their grandkids pay for his irresponsible policies. By the way, you are not a Republican, you just have an R next to your name. I, am a Republican and I was bashing Obama far before it became popular, thank you very much. Be well.

  • castello

    link it up.

  • Onedollarstocks

Gary check your email, thanks bud.

  • markie

gary your father is awesome!!!! thanks

  • TheGreatWazu

Sorry if I went off on you a bit. I'm sure that you are a well-meaning descent dude. Politics mixes with nothing and can ruin anything. I should know better than to engage Politics in this forum. You may now verbally punch me in the face and I shall not reply.

  • JustinM

Haha, good times. I hope Sasha's LeBron prediction comes true!

QOTD: I think both parties (BP and Gov) realized pretty early on that the relief wells were the only way to stop the leak. At that point both parties were trying to toss around a hot potato. I do believe the Government was wise not to takeover the capping operation. The best scientists were already working on it regardless of who was in charge and Gov taking over might have allowed BP to shift blame and cleanup/payment responsibilities on the US Government. I definetly think the Government needs to step in with all the other aspects of this disaster response though. From expediting the claims process, to forcing BP to OK certain cleanup projects quicker, to allowing more media access and so on…

We'll need a lot of smart people to come up with a lot of smart ideas and a little bit of luck in order to save the gulf. I think we can do it!

  • Sasha is the best, Mott is the bestest and wltv is the bestest.
QOTD: I bend toward the libertarian side of the river, so I think the screw up happened about 10+ years ago. The .gov has done about as good as can be expected since the spill.

  • Wonderful show!!!! Sasha has my vote for 2012!

  • John Rogers

Absolutely the best show this year. You two rock together. The wines played second fiddle.
I must admit live shows bring out the best in you( as long as we can hear you). I enyoyed your interaction with the audience and between Gary and Sasha. Mott did a great job considering it was a live show.

QOTD; I have been watching this oil disaster from the beginning and lets face it the our
government doesn't have the ability to correct the problem. That said the economic hit by the people should have been address by this government immediately then deal with BP responsibility at a later time.

  • Stan The Wine Man

    Gary,
You are very unique in this corporate world and your father brings out the qualities that prove this. Your transparency is an inspiration. Good job on keeping the show on track and interesting. I am going to look for that Bordeaux for my shop, sounds awesome. I really wish I could have attended the event.
Q.O.T.D. Not sure if it a question or a statement and I know that you hate political stuff on the show but I agree with Sasha on this. With all the technology we have in this country, if we would have put our resources together and quit pointing fingers as Sasha so eloquently put, this problem would be in our past.

  • Margaux Khoury-Traboulsee

My husband and I enjoyed this video SO much, THANK YOU.

  • ilbee

    Great show!

Sasha is the one guest that should definitely be on the show more often. No matter what the guy says about Lebron, it's gonna be an amazing season with those three playing together in Miami, as long as you're not a Cavs fan of course.

  • waynooo daaa wino

    YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWW!!!!!!
    PAAAAAAARRRRRRTTYYYYYYYYYYY DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWNNN IIINN
    DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIZZZZZZZZZZZZYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dude, I absolutely LOVE the passion. You’re a Vayniac. You were bringing the THUNDER. I don’t want to punch you in the face, I want to buy you a bottle of wine. If we had more people like you we probably would not be in the mess we are in now.

Do you know the famous quote by Edmund Burke; “?All that’s necessary for the forces of evil to win in the world is for enough good men to do nothing.? Well thats what I feel the Republicans are doing right now. I want the “Newt” minded winning Republicans back. Not the ones that are afraid to stare down the media. That was the point I was trying to make.

I say we show up at Wine Library, pick up some wine, food and Sasha and we’ll finish the conversation. Oh, and Mott too, if he wants to come. GV’s a big star now. he won’t have time. Good wine and good times to you my friend.

  • TheGreatWazu

Are you sure you read my response? Well anyway, thank you for understanding. I am very proud of our country. A country that used to have level playing field for all. You wouldn’t believe how many successful blacks there have been in our history that have been purposely removed from the books. Obama should be taking advantage of his time as president to talk to his black community telling them to pick up their bootstraps and teaching them of all the succsessful black people that truely helped make this country the (up till now) success that it has become in very instrumental ways. I feel bad for blacks these days. Instead of knowing that success is, and has been quite possible, all of us have been taught otherwise. Why? Because there is big big government money to be made in the business of oppression…and then there’s the votes too. Now, instead of having a level playing field we use government money and discriminative laws to force “equality” instead of letting hard work, accountability, free markets, the private sector and freedom to naturally take care of the problems, which have not gotten any better whatsoever since Wilson and FDR started screwing with what had worked so well before.
We all want the same things in life, black, white, yellow, red…whatever. The difference in people’s political opinions and their idealogy on how to get to that grail depend on where they get their information. None of us are in the White House or Congress to see what really goes down so we have to rely on media. Today’s NBC, ABC, MSNBC, CNBC, and a slew of newspapers and courtrooms are all the right arm of the government, somewhat like Russia’s Pravda was. Thank God people are waking up now…little by little. Unfortunately, people don’t change until they endure pain, and the pain is starting to be felt. We don’t go to the Dentist until we can’t take the pain anymore. Human nature. As I was saying, I mostly feel for our African American friends. Their representation in Washington is absolutely diplorable because there is more government money to be made in oppression than there is in freedom. How does this relate to the oil spill? GREATLY but I don’t have time to get into it. His priorites SUCK.
As far as GV and Mr. V goes…..they are extremely approachable and no different than you and I. Whether you are a star or and assistant at a day care center, we all put our pants on the same way and Gary never forgets this. He and his crew always get back to me and treat me almost like family. I bet we actually could get together some day….but politics….nah, I wouldn’t ruin the meeting with that subject. I like to have fun!
