I agree with Dawn9850 and think a show on PASO ROBLES wines would be great, which also ties in with Jason Armes comment. Paso Robles is exploding with great Zin and Rhone style producers. Four Vines, Denner, Saxum, Booker, Linne Calodo, Tablas Creek, L'Aventure and many, many more are simply killing it or “Bringing the thunder” in PASO ROBLES.

I was recently in Spain, the Catalunya area to be specific which includes Barcelona, Tarragona, etc. We drank some great wines from that area. How about a Catalunya tasting??

    Thanks.

  • well, if one stray off the path of port, madiera and sherry and even sauternes one could find Zinfandel port in the US, XP in Spain, Banyuls, even som red msucats from South Africa and why not noble rotted ones from Australia?

  • Vas

How about this Keller Qba Trocken http://winelibrary.com/wines/53106-2009+Keller+… and maybe some austrian riesling.

Also, can you please get Robert Bohr back on the show and do some Barolo, Burg, Riesling, etc? That show at Cru was one of my favorite wltv of all time

    Thanks, fellas!

  • Business comes first – just bring some extra thunder next week =D

  • mcinpat

Sierra Vista Wine from El Dorado Co. California That would be great! The Daily Crushers are stoked that you finally got it! Cheers!

  • Vonwise

How 'bout doing some finger lakes wines…it's been a while. I really would like your take on Bully Hill, white goat. do 'er GV!

  • purplegrillz

Everybody needs a break… I would like to see a tasting of highly rated 98 Aussie shiraz to see how 12 years is treating it.

  • PrimoVino

Thanks for checking, GV. Keep husslin', we can wait a few days…

How about doing some Oregon Pinots? Also, I'd like to see some “in the field” shows where you go to a winery and do barrel tastings with the winemakers. Talk about the process of wine-making a bit. Let's geek it up, dude.

    Best,
    PrimoVino

  • I'd like to see you review the official wine of the Daily Crushers… Sierra Vista Syrah. We are so excited you have our wine. Sierra Vista is awesome California wine!

  • brucebackman

I would love it if you were able to review the official wine of the Daily Crushers on your next show. Thanks a ton?LOVE your book “Crush It!”

  • Guest

Hey look it richardvinifera in trolltown. My your a waste of space and time. Oh and there is your buddy castello in trolltown. You two look so cute.

  • Guest

  • Hey Gary, Thanks for the video. Would love to see you review the official wine of the Daily Crushers! We now teach a course on developing your own information product using your book, “Crush It!”. It's awesome!

  • Gary: So, nu, you want suggestions for a show? Here's one: Taste the top awardees from a recent major wine competition – the best sparkling, white, rose, red and dessert – and see if you agree with the consensus of those 40-100 wine professionals/judges who've done the finalists' judging.

  • Farfromhome2003

Gary…it's always good to feel like there's some momentum…even if it's us seeing how busy your life can be. Some wines that I'd love to see you taste for the summer love…

2002 André Clouet Champagne Millésimé – PLEASE can we get some vintage growers on the show?
2007 Florian Weingart Bopparder Hamm Riesling Spätlese (from the Mittelrhein…almost no one seems to know (or tasted a wine from) this region in Germany)
2007 Foradori Teroldego Rotaliano (you loved the 06 but the '07 is now in stock…)

    Just a few fun thoughts…

  • winemonologues

Gary. . . as they say. . . “life happens”. Don't work too hard. See you next week!

  • Tcc1525

Hi Gary, how about tasting some wine from the Leelnau region of Michigan? Bel Lago winery won the Pacific Rim tasting for best Reisling. They make some great wines in that region and are coming on strong. Give some props to the good old MIDWEST if you get a chance.
    Thanks!

  • Tcc1525

Sorry meant Leelanau, it would help if I could type correctly.

  • njc2o

good to see gary has time to putz around on ustream but not make any shows

  • Thx Randall. I love Zin and would like to see more of them on WLTV.. Hey, I recently had a Handley Anderson Valley Pinot Noir ’06 -very good and under $30 (barely under)

  • Toke-Dawg

Sucks that there are no new episodes this week. Gary, you've got to taste Carmel's Appelation Series Petite Sirah from the Judean Hills in Israel. Israel planted tons of PS and Carignan 30+ years ago and left those vines alone for 20 years while making tons of cab/merlot and now are making some great old vine wine. Definitely thunderous enough for a spot on the thunder show.

  • DCaragher

GV – No worries my man…take care of biz…come back strong next week!

  • duck

Sorry to see you're out of commission for awhile, but I'm sure you won't loose any of your viewers. We'll all just be chomping at the bit. As far as reviewing product, how about something you don't do too often, like a mini-vertical. How about Chateaux Angelus 2002-2008?

  • AllanJonassen

    oh, cool, can i come and spring clean. . . . :0)

    LOL!
    Rock on waynooo

  • waynooo daaa wino

    Ya won't go away Thirsty, that's for Suuure…. :o)

  • Mdunn

Lurker who saw the coment on Jeff Runquist. That got me out. Would be really interesting if you did a show on him. I get his wines all the time and they rock! Recient Petite Sirah release is from another planet!!!

  • Randall

Wow… you know the good Pinots. That was a spur of the moment splurge of mine not too long ago. On Snooth it’s $21.97… It WAY outshined a couple of under $20 Cal. PNs that I’ve had since.Zins can be AMAZING. I really like the deep, spicy peppery ones. I don’t generally like the fruit bombs made from Zin, unlike some other varietals where I can appreciate many styles made from the same grape. They give pretty good value as well. And I agree… more Zins, please.

  • AllanJonassen

    HA! LOL!

I'll be there… Check out Sticks Mcghee on face… Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnddddd………. Cheers!

  • plcb

    no worries

  • kellenw

Looking forward to next week! How about some 2007 Gigondas? or another vertical tasting of something if possible?

  • TPF

I have been trying to register in the the WLTV forums and I can't get past the anti-bot question. Who is the host of WLTV if not Gary Vaynerchuk??

  • Agree with you on the Zins (Are you listening, Gary?).. and thx for Snooth tip!!!!

  • mikeyz

    Hey Gary,

I'm heading to San Fran on Thursday. any recommendations for dinner with good wine list?

  • Randall

Mdunn, I've been pimping various NorCal vinos in this comment section that I think deserve more recognition for a while now… (e.g. Runquist, Revolution Winery, Cooper Vineyards, and more recently, St. Amant, as well.)

Anyway, I've been all about JR vinos since I learned about him from the Coopers about a half decade ago. I've mostly stuck w/ their Barbera, and haven't bought a bottle of the PS, yet. But I did taste it at the “Grape And Gormet” thing recently (in Sacto) and agree wholeheartedly.

p.s. Funny thing – At that event, cellarrat5's booth (St. Amant) was right next to Runquist, and a couple of feet away was Cooper Vineyards (where JR still source their Barbera, if not other fruit as well), which was right next to Cleavage Creek (I thought their Reserve Cab was really good)… and ALL of this was right next to the “Beer” section!! I had a WHOLE LOT of goodness in one area of the huge Convention Center! I even forgot to swing by Revolution! D'oh!!

p.p.s. I also noticed a definite trend towards Portuguese varietals in California…

  • red fan

How about a show on Dry Creek Zin?

  • NY Pete

    that sucks …
    what's up with that Mr.Mott?

How about a Walla Walla revisit?

  • Stefanpierkes

I saw on Winelibary.com that you have a german Riesling from the Bopparder Hamm of the winery Weingart. This would be very interesting because first this wine tasts very good (hopefully) when it´s hot outside and 2nd this area the “Middlerhinevalley” is not so overpriced like the Rheingau for example.

    Greetings
    Stefan
