Hey Gary, coming out of Lurkdom! You should review Duplin wines if you haven't already (which I couldn't find any record of it, so I don't think you have). They're a winery from North Carolina. If not them, have you ever reviewed a scuppernong wine? It's so fun to say! Scuppernooooooooong
i accidentily hit the under 21 button when listing for the forum and have sent three emails about that, but still, no reply or no feedback and my account is still not activated. the forum admin really does bad job
Since you asked… from what I could find, it's been a VERY long time since you've done any Long Island wines, and some are quite deserving. For example… the last episode to feature LI wines included a bottle from the (relatively) well-known Paumanok winery. I think they are worth another look, as they make good wines and are pretty widely available in the NYC area.

Hi GV, just watched the video update. Go crush it on the WL business issues, the fans can wait a week! When you get back you could try some “””Spanish wine””” to celebrate they're World Cup title. Best luck! MF.
I like people like you; they fill my day with disdain and confirm once again the superiority of my persona. Let’s all thank Jvigil8 for making all our days. Thank you, Jvigil8!
nitaT
you are a busy man– we get it!
adam_riley
No prob Gary, hope you have a productive week.
I do agree on the Spanish wine thing to celebrate Spain. Also would love to see an episode on one of the following: Loire, Alsace, Umbria, or Sherry. Thanks! AR

Boones Farm… as punishment for no WLTV. 😛
Sarasalcedo
I know no episode this week but for next times can you talk a little more about what can a label let you know before you even buy or taste the wine?
ZachNYC
I say Lancers head to head punishment
Randall
If you did that, it would be getting a bit nipply out… 😀
And how come it gotta be white, shorty? Pinot STILL Rules!!
Power To The Reds!! Ok… And the Whites… And the Blue(points)… ;P
It's finally gonna happen. And, this video is confirmation. I can see the news now:
“In a surprise quiet bidding war over the past week, the NY Jets have been bought out by power trio made up of Jay-Z (rapper, music mogul and Nets part owner), Gary Vaynerchuk (Owner of Wine Library TV, Vayner Media and man who think he's 5'10″) and Campbell's (Soup gurus.) The new co-owners of the NY Jets will make a formal announcement on Monday. The parts of the deal, which has been leaked to the media, will include a new stadium on Long Island and a change in the iconic name from the NY Jets to the NY Alphabets.”

Would like to hear your opinion on Orin Swift wines.
BradVinNH
Hmmm . . . . What to do next?? How about '08 Oregon Pinot Noirs or Syrahs and Cabs from Washington State? Hey! You don't have to apologize for taking a week off! Doesn't everyone deserve a vacation now and then? (Of course you blew it by showing us that you're still working!)
Mdunn
thanks, I will be looking into some you mentioned.
Randall
Honestly, I think you'll be very satisfied w/ those others if you like the JR vinos…
Randall
Long way to go for the Campbell's joke. Just sayin'… ;P Later…

I would love to see another vertical tasting episode like the Lindaflor Malbec one a couple weeks ago. I think it's fascinating the way wines made from grapes from the same vines and even using the exact same process can differ so much just based on the conditions of the growing season. Maybe you could even nerd out a little bit and tell us about the weather and stuff each year and how it influenced the character of the wine.
Alternately, I'd really appreciate it if you tasted something that either I can't get on WL or that's just really bad. I've only been watching a month or so, but already have six or seven bottles of stuff that's brought the thunder on WLTV. Give my credit card a break! 🙂

Yes sander I’m sure your a real winner in life and have expanded the universe and made this a better place to live. Oh no, you haven’t done a thing that merits mention. Oh my, then there is the reality of life….. no one really cares if sanders lives or dies. But there is good news for you sanders, ..from the looks of your post your grade school is very proud of you. Oh yea, don’t forget to make the little yellow bus daily it does help with your persona.

Hope things go well. You will be missed.

Pretty freakin' funny, though. But girl, EVERYTHING can't be on L.I.!! 😀
Hey Gary V…. Would love for you to taste the Official Wine of the Daily Crushers…. Sierra Vista Wine … The Syrah is wonderful!!! Look forward to your take on it !!!
Taste Sierra Vista Wine next… The Official Wine of the #DailyCrushers

Hey Gary, if you have any new wines from the “other 48” maybe you could do a show about them. Or another head-to-head blind tasting. Those are always fun. Plus we love the nerd knowledge. See ya next week!

right on dude! orin swift… does that make you an I in the same unbeknownst to us club? I've had his The Prisoner and Paplillon, and maybe because of the youthfulness, the Prisoner usually wins out. Both are stellar. Dried apricots and Christmas Trees abound in heavy concentrate and the norm is a day, uncorked… to let 'em open up. They are big boys, no two ways about it… and I'm just a hick from Korea, hyuk, hyuck…

I know I'm new, and I know I'm feeling verbose… but, dude… in the immortal words of my long lost father, “you putz.” You couldn't even muster a 3 minute video? Hmm, interesting. I don't know how you roll then, if “this” is how you roll. Fuckin' buck up! Pump out a vid, fluffernutter. Put that other guy Mott up in front for a show. Put your mother up there for an episode… don't post this swan song! please! I've never been as moved to post sh** on this comment section before tonight and I've been a faithful listener for over a year… (I don't know, it's hard to keep track, it might even be 3 years… but I don't know for a fact when you came on and the exact moment when I picked you up) but I've been faithful. Look, asking me to hand on is one thing, but dude, you asked me to hang on for some “official business” which immediately means I'm cut out of the picture A) and that some unperceived change is looming in the future B) Neither of which were part of your original entertainment/show.
PS keep up the good work!
Clarkbar27
Check out posts about a work/work balance. Hopefully that will recast your thinking.
JayZee13
While I'm disappointed, this hiatus allowed me to catch up with the week of episodes that I was behind, so I cannot complain too much. Hopefully all is well in WineLib Land.
On the other hand, let's have Mott do a show!
As for wines to taste next week, how about a show on Bordeaux – but do whites! Oh, and you can let everyone know why you think we shouldn't buy 2009 Bordeaux. 😉
Have a good week off GV! You shouldn't feel bad for a single second taking a week off man….geez, you have more video content than freakin Brad Pitt! Party on!
Doug, I get it, I am so sorry and I will try to do better …seriously sorry to let u down!

Zuccardi Serie A Malbec 2008, retails at 14 “bones,” probably a 90+ point wine. Wine Buyer gave it 93, but I'm not familiar with how they score. I'd go with a solid 91. Whatever the rating, it's a steal for the price.
K1avg
Dude, so yeah, maybe this is a bit of a cop-out, but Gary doesn't *owe* you a video every day. He takes time away from all his other stuff and wine out of his inventory to do this. Don't take that for granted. If he needs/wants to take a week off, we'll survive. You can be understandably disappointed, but you don't have to get pissy about it.
Just keep things coming. I would like to second JayZee13 on the idea of some white Bordeaux. It is timely, as tomorrow the Tour de France will finish the stage there.

A highlights show that covers all of a skimpy week followed by a “show update?” Uh oh. Are we losing Gary V?
Pacific Rim Rieslings…. would love to know what you think of them. Any Chardonnay's under 20 bones it is hard to find a good one for less the that in most places by me.
AG
Hey, business is business. Try to enjoy the week off. As far as suggestions, I always wondered if you would give similar reviews of the wines from the first 20 or so episodes. Wines are supposed to evolve, aren't they? Cheers.
Nightengalesroost
Hi Gary- Recommend Postales Del Fin Del Mundo. Carbernet Sugvignon Malbec 2008. Very reasonable, great wine from Argentina

Why has jvigil8’s username been removed from all his/her posts? I can only speculate.
Richardvinifera? You haven’t heard of me? I’m the third biggest importer of Italian wines into Micronesia.
Allow me to qualify what I meant by “real fan”. Someone who enjoys Gary’s wine reviews AND understands how he balances his career with other things.
Unless you manage to reply with a compelling argument I don’t think i’ll take any more bait from your ramblings (try to stay on topic: jvigil8 “I’ll imply that Richard and castello are gay, then i’m sure to win!”)
Trolltown is a figurative place ya big stoopid.

GV, I almost NEVER comment on any shows. I am a lurker! But since you ask what you should taste next week, I'd like to throw a suggestion.
I know you're from the dirty jers, but how about some NY state wines: LI Chardonnay, finger-lakes Riesling, etc. I've never seen you taste a Cayuga White, the wine grape engineered by Cornell to survive the cold weather. I know it's not the best wine, but don't be stuck up! Do it for the lurkers (and your fans from NY).
Randall
I highly doubt it!!

I would like to hear about wines that help me get through this long, hot summer.
wawineguy
I second the idea of a mead show. There are some good mead producers here in WA. SkyRiver meadry is about 20 miles from me.
Craigallynrose
Dang it, I'm jonesing big time for some fresh wine library tv! Hope all is well vay-ner-chuk.

GV, I think this flies in the face of how you roll but i would like to hear your suggestions. I understand the difference in “pals” but it would be fascinating to have you say. “if you like Hundred Acre Cabernet at $500 a bottle you might like ??? at $20.” I always like to see if I can find the same flavor profile in a bargain as i can find in a fancy pants wine.
