Gary Vaynerchuk is joined with Jimmy Trent, a longtime Vayniac and contest winner. He brought 2 Gran Reserva wines to try from the Utiel-Requena region of Spain.
lines of the day – ‘These wines are like 2 Golden Retrievers, ones a couple of years older. One chilling on the floor and the other one trying too hard, constantly bringing the ball back etc’ and ‘I know more about baseball than anyone in the world’
Absolutely classic episode with a good guest and loads of sports trivia. (For example ‘Jerome Bettis is the biggest choker in the history of sports’)
I enjoyed the show and your guest though the Steelers talk had my blood boiling a bit. I am a little sick of all the Jets in the Super Bowl predictions that “experts” have been picking. I think the Sanchize catches the sophmore jinx and has a down year.
QOTD: I sell wine (see episdode #659 for more specific details) for a living. If I could do anything I probably would coach football at a high level.

QOTD; Security Architect for a large software company. Most of the time I'm helping my customers make our software work in their environment. The rest of the time is working with the software to make it better. Second part, I would like to be retired, golf more, and enjoy wine with my neighbors and friends!
QOTD: Software Developer at Nasa so I'm an astronaut by proxy 😉 and I am also an amature MMA fighter, turning pro later this year, so I rather be punching people in the face than punching the keyboard
Yep, giving people something nice, usually with wine 🙂 Have a videoblogg like WLTV, tasting chocolate, one swedish version and one english (pardon my accent) English version http://chocolatetv.anderschokladprovning.se/
I've been watching the show for a couple of week and been meaning to post but this is my first comment here and Gary you should thank Jimmy for bringing me out in the light!
QOTD: I sell real estate in Bulgaria what I'd love to get paid to do – taste wine of course! 🙂

Welcome back Jack!
I had the Picpol (sp) and shared with a couple ladies who chugged it down. Nothing too weird about my bottle.
Just Jack
Thanks Castello it is good to be back.
I am glad you liked it. You know, I was thinking after our exchange about how weird that mid-finish transition flavor was. I got that after spring was well under way here and we had a few warm but not crazy hot days. I wonder of it was a bit cooked. I can recognize a cooked big red most of the time, especially if it has been more than a couple months after the incident and definitely if I am familiar with the wine in question, but I don’t know that I have ever had a cooked white and known it. I would be curious if anybody has any thoughts on the matter of cooked whites and what kind of effects can be expected.
In any event it apparently was bottle variation of some kind or another because you have three palettes on your side saying it was fine and mine picking up strange funk. And, as we all know, it couldn’t possibly be a deficiency in my palate so it must be BV.

Absolutely!

Enjoyed the show. QOTD – Classical singer / waiter. About 50/50 income right now. Nope.

QOTD: I get paid to do Business Development for an industrial tooling company. I would love to get paid by owning a restaurant as I love to serve food and wine. Great episode.

I'm currently unemployed. My ideal job would be writing and social media.
I have however had a recent job interview for a customer service role, just waiting to hear back if I get to a second interview, which is just as good as I enjoy helping people.
I own an electronics business. Right now, I love it. If I did go elsewhere, I would start a non- profit with an emphasis on either clean water in the 3rd world, or education in urban USA.
BTW, I am a defacto Steelers fan. I live in Portland OR, so no pro football. Neighbors are from Pittsburgh, huge fans. We drink wine together, and inevitably it turned into football and wine…now my newborn has a terrible towel.
Totally Agree keep the coin or whatever other gadget you used to decide that day!! That would make a great story for the grandkids, “I flipped this coin to decide wether to marry you grandma or this other really hot lady!!!”

QOTD: I do software development for a company that deals with scientific information. I?ve thought about the advantages of having a job where I got some exercise, like an old fashion (on foot) mailman. I do look forward to a day when retirement is an option. But all things considered, I can?t think of a better job than the one I?ve got.

Funny Jimmy asked that question. I am currently and international student majoring in International tourism (did 2 years of culinary arts though) and I work at the office of Student Activities at my school and I love it; but what I would rather do all day long and get pay for it is DEcorate cakes. I went to culinary school but I have always loved baking, so inspired by Gary's hustle mentality I am now studying on my own about baking and pastry and taking small courses so I might just be !!! not getting payed for it but Legacy over Currency baby !!

Nice work hustling and getting on the show, Jimmy.
QOTD: I currently work at a wine store and hopefully soon will be back to an old job purchasing at a mine. Yet if I could get paid to do anything I think I would love to train people. I would love to teach about wine and being a leader,
Interesting combo. Nobody put jsums in a box! 😉

I have been studying what it means to be a man for many years and I see a huge lack of understanding what that role is and how we can help boys become men. I am a huge Mark Driscoll fan. I am still trying to sort a lot of these things out and they always say the best way to learn is to teach.
Driscoll is a great dude. You on twitter? Lets connect.

Go Duke! Reigning national champs in basketball and lacrosse. (But still haven't won the Carlyle since '03-'04, I'm sad to say.) Tarheels. Feh.
Side QOTD: Nope, but then I never leave truly momentous moments up to chance (and neither does Gary).
QOTD: I'd love to be a professional musician, but I just don't have the necessary physical gifts to be really good at it. So I do it semi-pro on the side, of course.
Whitlock
QOTD: I have an online car dealership and I can honestly say there is nothing else I would rather be doing.
